• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Power Electronics, Electronics, Mechatronic, or similar fields required. MS degree in engineering a plus. • Preferably in a hands-on role such as Failure Analysis / Quality / Service in consumer electronics or automotive industry • The successful candidate for this position must have a broad technical background with the ability to work with engineering, manufacturing, service, and suppliers across a wide variety of issues. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are an absolute requirement to establish effective working relationships within Tesla and outside. • Exceptional problem solving and Failure Analysis, strong attention to detail and analytical thinking. • Proficient in PCBA level troubleshooting and debugging; experience in embedded systems such as ARM microcontroller or FPGA a plus • Knowledge in applying statistical methods and tools to manage, synthesize, and interpret data. • Programming Languages & Tools: Python, Minitab, JMP or similar are a strong plus • Previous experience in a fast-paced, high pressure manufacturing environment a plus. Tesla Electronics Test and Automation Group (ETAG) is the main point of contact to ensure the highest quality vehicle, silicon and robotics electronics for our customers. Our mission is to develop test automation equipment, architect software automation framework, and provide hardware/software/data infrastructure for Tesla electronics communities worldwide. We are seeking a multi-faceted Electrical Engineer who will be responsible for all aspects of identifying, analyzing, root causing; implementing countermeasures, and reporting on issues affecting all low voltage PCBAs including, but not limited to, body controllers and car computers. This candidate will work with test engineers within the group to quickly mitigate and implement countermeasures at suppliers and factories to improve quality, reliability, durability of the products. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem solver with excellent analytical and organizational skills, who thrives in an environment that encourages and rewards superior work. THE ROLE Tesla is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to design and develop electronics for use in our HV electronics systems. This individual will collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers to deliver best in class electrical architectures and products. RESPONSIBILITIES · Design and develop electronic circuits and systems for battery management system, include power conversion, contactor control, protection, etc. · Conduct through testing and validation of electronic components and systems to meet design requirements and regulations. · Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to battery electronic systems, include global contractor manufacturer and giga factories. · Collaborative work with mechanical, firmware, software, thermal design, manufacturing test, and system test engineers to land the product to mass production. · Support design reviews and DFMEAs.

Team The Low Voltage Hardware team designs circuit boards which control hundreds of devices (motors,sensors, LEDs, etc) across all electrical systems (seats, doors, HVAC, powertrain, safety, chassis, lighting, etc) in Tesla vehicles. Responsibilities Start-to-finish hardware ownership: Specification, architecture, design, simulation, schematic, layout supervision, manufacturing, bringup, and validation of circuit boards. Collaborate with PCB layout, firmware, mechanical, program management, and validation teams Thoroughly document design requirements, calculations, validation results, etc Rapidly iterate as design requirements and product features mature over time Required Skills Circuit board design (Altium preferred) Strong understanding of analog & digital circuits (MOSFETs, op-amps, switching regulators, gate drivers, microcontrollers, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, component selection, power dissipation, etc) Ability to tackle open-ended challenges using first-principles Proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, electronic loads, etc) Exceptional organization and English communication skills (both written and verbal) Preferred Skills Experience shipping high-volume circuit boards Basic programming ability (Python preferred) Knowledge of automotive design
