Minimum Qualifications • Major in EE or equivalents, BS, MS or PhD. • Experienced in related trouble shooting, MCU/Embedded system bring up/debug etc • Familiar with Python/Shell with good coding style experience • Good oral and written English Preferred Qualifications • Familiar with version control tool (Git) and one of software development IDEs such as VScode, Xcode, Vim, etc. • Project experience on machine learning is a plus • Experience on database(e.g. MySQL, SQLite) is a plus • Knowledge of Web app design process, front-end technology (JavaScript/CSS/HTML) and the related frameworks is a plus

Our Mac hardware system design engineer team is responsible for delivering the best computers to the end users. In this team, you will work as an intern with the best engineers in the world. You will be encouraged to do something different and outstanding, to explore the far reaches of the possible, to be part of the team which always changes the world. We are currently seeking hard-working EE major interns who can start work in 2025. The interns will support electrical & system design and integration of the Mac computers. The candidate will be assigned tasks that support the design, integration, implementation, testing, and qualification of various electrical sub-systems. Would prefer the candidate be self-motivated, a creative problem solver, a good communicator and motivator. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Participate in development of next generation Mac products. - Be the expert to help with EE related issues. - Be the expert to do script development. - Good ability for issue summary and reporting. - Be able to manage vendor EE resources for better technical support.
As an intern, you will: Design and prototype AI-driven tools that support hardware engineers in data analysis, test automation, and debugging workflows. Implement backend services in Python and frontend interfaces in TypeScript (React/Next.js). Integrate databases (SQL, vector databases) for data storage, search, and retrieval. Explore AI/ML workflows (embeddings, retrieval, summarization, code assistance). Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to translate requirements into working tools. Write clear documentation, tests, and deployment scripts.
- You will support product requirements for iPhone/iPad/Mac/Apple Watch/AppleTV/Apple Vision Pro - Bring-up, verification, and triage of new hardware platforms - Work cooperatively with other parts of Apple to diagnose and triage new product introduction (NPI) issues in factory. - You will work with cross-functional teams and help delivering high quality software at fundamental layer of operating system including frameworks, daemons, drivers for both factory and consumers. - You need to keep security and performance in mind, enabling key features while protecting privacy and preventing fraudulence. - Working on technology you will have the opportunity to have a major impact on the implementation and quality of Apple's next generation products. - Up to 10-20% travel.

In this highly visible role, you will utilize your mechanical design engineering skills to bring products to the market. Your responsibilities as Mechanical engineers is to design next generation of input device products, portable and desktop computers, and modules to support the Mac and iOS product lines. Your responsibilities will span from technology development, concept generation to detailed design, analysis and testing through mass production ramp. Developing initial product layouts and new technology concepts. Detailed design of mechanisms and sensors Support technology investigations and development Building prototypes to validate function, manufacturability, and robustness Perform FEA or coordinate FEA activities to evaluate and optimize design concepts Analyze data generated from builds and lab experiments Participate in design reviews to generate and receive constructive feedback Perform tolerance analyses to predict performance of mechanisms, sensors, and cosmetic Create specifications, detailed design and 2D documentation of all parts and assemblies Work with operations teams to evaluate and develop supply chains capable of Manufacturing new subsystems and products Interacting with vendors to develop manufacturing processes and tooling concepts Define testing requirements and equipment and analyze the data produced Support build activities including finding root cause for failures and solutions for issues that impede build progress
