In this highly visible role, you will manage selection, implementation & optimization of quality processes for consumer packaging parts and assemblies for our legendary highly cosmetic consumer products. Responsibilities include developing new quality control regimes to enable current and future product designs, conducting DOEs to validate quality systems, and qualifying these regimes for mass production. Full ownership providing end to end solutions including all aspects of equipment selection, setup, process definition, qualification, and mode of operation to ensure a robust quality system. Lead production line qualification prior to mass production. The qualification processes required includes cosmetic yield study, approval on product quality, review of product quality consistency, standard inspection process and its implementation, reliability testing results, and dimensional inspection reports. A heavy emphasis will be on working with suppliers to triage and mitigate quality issues during ramp up and mass production through lightning fast reactions to quality excursions, deep diving on failure analysis and creating robust corrective actions to prevent customer exposure while enabling continued mass production. Set up standardized quality control process across all vendors to ensure measurement correlation, and as a result, product quality consistency. Regularly visits vendors factory sites during mass production to review product quality, inspection process, and audit vendor’s quality system and manufacturing process control. Interact with Industrial Design, Marcom, Product Design to enable the most beautiful packaging designs, vivid prints, and uniformly coloured parts on the market. Coordination of activities between the Asia and US-based teams, and vendors is a necessity.

Partner with multi-functional teams to evaluate designs and processes at the concept phase. Collaborate closely with product design and manufacturing engineering teams to develop and manage material and part-level specifications. Lead activities to balance unparalleled quality with scalable yields. Work with internal and external groups to ensure proper definition of quality expectations and appropriate assurance techniques are used for the product. Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods that achieve results-oriented specifications at substantial production scale for resins. Develop and implement groundbreaking quality inspection tools to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional characteristics for plastic. Support qualification of resin manufacturing process activities, including the development and alignment of inspection plans. Coordinate all Quality Engineering functions for a program, serving as the project manager to lead efforts at resin manufacturing supplier locations. Establish audit procedures appropriate to the program and plastic material suppliers to ensure consistency with Apple quality standards. Travel frequently to supplier sites to oversee operations and quality compliance. Lead complex problem-solving initiatives and conduct deep-dive failure analysis to identify root causes and resolve manufacturing or material defects. Compile and evaluate data to resolve appropriate limits for plastic parts. Evaluate and communicate yields of new and existing processes. Drive corrective actions multi-functionally with internal and external team members based on failure analysis findings.

- Responsible for developing the quality plan, infrastructure and its implementation for new projects by working closely with Apple multi-functional teams and the suppliers. - Support for NPI build activities and also support in MP. - Applies quality and reliability concepts during our products development phase as well as in the mass production to put in place quality controls in the manufacturing process. - Thoroughly understands the design and manufacturing process as well as capabilities of various manufacturing processes used and designs appropriate testing/controls to guarantee output quality. - Works with equipment vendors to design metrology (measurement inspection) equipment, approves DFMs and applies metrology concepts in qualification and validation of equipment. - Uses statistical tools to make everyday decisions such as sample size calculations, distribution analysis, process capability, etc and move the program forward. - Closely collaborates with the multi-functional team in the product development phase to assess product risks and paths to mitigate them. - Participates in the development and implementation of Product Quality Plan (PQP). - Develops specific quality programs during development and qualification stages. - Reviews product design to ensure quality objectives are met. - Closely work with suppliers to meet the quality expectations. - Collaborate with the suppliers and Apple multi-functional team to help set up the IQC, IPQC, OQC and ORT processes for key parts. - Establishes discovery audit procedures and ensures performance to standards by Apple test personnel.

• Based on understanding a product feature, determine the best manufacturing stage for testing GPU/CPU hardware features. This could be ATE, socketed or board-level system test, rack-level test, or pod/cluster-level test, as needed. • Create new tests or test conditions based on an understanding of hardware features or learnings from customer returns or gaps in internal manufacturing stages. • Perform or automate test runs, analyze and visualize data to ensure a high-quality test, and guide debug for yield or escape issues. • Partner with test engineering and operations teams to implementing efficient manufacturable test solutions
