• Work closely with Senior MPE team members in supplier monitoring and reporting open issues • Participate in the review and development of part/sub-assembly process flow, including process fixture concept and DFM • Assist in the organization of technical data documentation throughout the development cycle including FAI, CMK, CPK, GR&R, and DFM • Travel domestically and internationally to sites as projects required • Can work 5 days per week during summer holiday for at least 3 months duration • Is willing to work in Shenzhen
The Mechanical Process Engineer (MPE) works closely with teams located in both the US and China throughout the design cycle. As a member of the MPE team, you will be responsible for supporting mechanical part manufacturing and decorative processes, providing design recommendations to the design team (ID & PD), driving engineering studies, and improving part yield rate. You are responsible for closely monitoring and driving the above activities at suppliers. In addition, you will work closely with the TPM team on giving timely feedback of technical risk, and continuous communication of the status of engineering issues throughout the product development cycle to a cross functional audience. The Senior Mechanical Process Engineer (MPE) — Injection Molding works closely with teams located in both the US and China throughout the design cycle. The Role: - Identify and develop injection molding processes for mechanical plastic parts, including process parameter optimization, mold flow analysis review, and cosmetic defect resolution - Review and develop injection molding process flow, including mold design review, tooling fixture concept, gate/runner design, and DFM feedback - Develop supplier injection molding process capability through continuous engagement, engineering studies, and DOE (Design of Experiments) - Provide design feedback and recommendations on wall thickness, draft angles, rib/boss design, undercuts, parting line placement, and tolerances for injection molded parts - Drive and approve technical data documentation throughout the development cycle including FAI, Cpk, Cmk, GR&R, mold flow analysis reports, and DFM - Drive technical issue resolution at injection molding suppliers throughout the development cycle (e.g., sink marks, warpage, weld lines, short shots, flash, cosmetic defects) - Mentor and develop junior engineers on injection molding best practices - Identify technical risks related to mold tooling and injection molding processes, and define mitigation plans - Travel domestically and internationally to supplier sites (mold makers and injection molding facilities) as projects require

We have an immediate opening for a Supply Base Engineer role. The mission is to ensure the seamless integration of design and manufacturing processes. As a pivotal part of our team, you will focus on the advancement of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles, developing MFD (Manufacturing for design) solutions, driving manufacturing feedback to Engineering and implementing industry optimized methodology to ensure smooth system integration in manufacturing.You will be working concurrently with NVIDIA hardware engineering teams and thermal, mechanical suppliers to develop manufacturing maturity at the same pace of product design, starting from conception phase, through new NPI to MP (mass production). What you’ll be doing: • Manage consumer NPI mechanical and thermal component qualification, manufacturing technology management and MP readiness. • Represent Operations during early product life cycle and provide manufacturability, quality, cost and yield impact information to design, sourcing, and manufacturing engineering teams. • Ensure clear product specifications, such as CMF (color, material and finish), cosmetic spec, 2D drawing and reliability requirement. • Lead suppliers to establish efficient fabrication process flow and to drive solutions to problems that are or might adversely affect MP. • Provide manufacturability feasibility analysis, identify risks, develop mitigation plan and apply risk minimizing techniques to optimize manufacturability. • Perform surveys and audits for new supplier selection and qualification with functional teams. • Implementing KISS principle (keep it simple, stupid), handle DFM exception agreement. • Address front line production and manufacturing product issues, monitor health of fleet and initiate investigation of issues, and root cause product failures and drive corrective action. • Own yield and efficiency improvement actions and process change decisions based on statistical process control (SPC) data analysis to meet target capacity. • Manufacturing waste reduction, cost optimization proposals as well as cosmetic appearance improvement.
