As a member of the Silicon Solution Group (SSG), you would play a significant role in chip/product bring-up and validation, collaborating with different teams to drive/develop automation solutions for silicon/platform test coverage and improving test efficiency for chip characterization. What you’ll be doing • Develop and maintain prototype FPGA/MCU Firmware of reference board to facilitate silicon feature qualification. • Drive requirements for emulation platform features that enable efficient validation workflows and design automated validation frameworks for validation tools/test cases running on FPGA emulation environments • Implement continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines for automated validation • Implement process improvements to accelerate automation and increase verification efficiency • Identify and communicate debug infrastructure needs (visibility, controllability, trace capabilities) • Analyze test automation failures, debug firmware and hardware issues using emulation tools and methodologies and coordinate with multi-functional teams to resolve issues
The Role: Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Wireless Firmware Integration Engineer for the Wireless Systems team to develop best in class telematics solutions. The role involves integration and validation of wireless connectivity firmware/driver solutions for telematics systems across Tesla vehicle platforms (S, 3, X, Y, ...). The position requires working closely with cross-functional teams and also external partners on firmware integration with wireless SoC and Tesla wireless stack in order to enable productions across factory and delivered fleets. This position involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with tight timing constraints. Responsibilities: Development and integration of the SoC partners' firmware and Tesla connectivity stack Responsible for firmware repo creation, firmware integration, build, deployment and validation across telematics products' full lifecycle Develop software CI/CD automation framework to continuously improve development and integration efficiency Keep track and analysis of SoC partner side firmware issues in pre-production stage Work closely with firmware development, production team and external partners to keep delivering high quality firmware

This will include projects to create or improve integration tools, as well as tasks to investigate vehicle software improvements in the manufacturing environment. It is important that this person is excited about learning new skills and systems and has strong collaboration skills. This person will be expected to move projects along at an aggressive pace and to get your hands dirty in the details of various subsystems – digging through backend logs, root causing issues and developing solutions to complex problems. The Factory Firmware Team is the eyes and ears of the Firmware organization within the factory and often have the last say on the deployment of new firmware to manufacturing – providing valuable insight and feedback to accelerate development of new software features.
