AT LEAST 4 MONTHS INTERNSHIP, DO NOT APPLY IF CAN'T MEET. The role: The job requires good mechanical engineering fundamental and basic electronic engineering ability. The intern will serve as part of the Tesla cell test team, to design and improve the equipment in cell test lab. The scope includes cell fixture design and manufacturing, test platform setup, renovation of lab space. A strong hands-on ability to solve problems, creative thinking and good project management skills are required. Also, good communication ability with both Chinese and foreign colleagues is necessary. The candidate should recognize the values of Tesla and possess a strong will to join Tesla. Responsibilities: 1. Support mechanical engineer and test engineer to design cell test fixtures, ensure cell tests deliver high-quality data. 2. Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings. 3. Communication with internal and external stakeholders to design and manufacture fixture and equipment. 4. Organize design reviews for cell testing fixtures with US and CN colleagues. 5. Support on-site technicians, identify inconveniences and help to improve. 6. Integration of some electronics with mechanical structure. MUST 1. BS or higher degree in Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and control engineering. 2. Strong CAD ability with SolidWorks or CATIA for creating 3D models and 2D drawings. 3. Basic knowledge in GD&T. 4. Familiar with basic properties of common metal and non-metal materials. 5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 6. Self-motivated to work in Tesla’s cell test lab. 7. Good spoken and written in English. PREFERRED 1. Good electronics basis, experience with circuits and embedded system. 2. Basic knowledge in design for reliability 3. Experience in Finite-Element-Analysis 4. Knowledge about Lithium-ion cells and cell testing 5.
