What To Expect
Tesla Power Electronics is looking for a driven Firmware Engineer to bring the next generation of the grid-tied DC AC inverter and high frequency onboard charger to the market. The candidate should display enthusiasm for owning the product and delivering the power electronics control firmware. The responsibilities range from architecting, implementing, and validating control algorithm to achieve the new feature development. This role involves working closely with the hardware team to deliver the solid product C-code for AC/DC and DC/DC power electronics converters. This is an opportunity to work with world class research and development teams that continually drive the innovation of the power electronics products.

What You’ll Do
· Write high-quality C code for driving the ADC, Ecap, SPI, CAN based on TIMS320F28377 and AMC2634 series MCU
· Familiar with C-code implementation to implement the phase-shift control and PWM duty control for the isolated DCDC converter or three-level DCAC inverters.
· Deliver the advanced control algorithms to optimize the efficiency of the dcdc and dcac converter used in vehicle onboard charging and grid-tied dcac inverters
· Got expertise in the domain area for the performance optimization of the high frequency dc-dc and dc-ac converters
· Familiar with the low voltage ride through and high voltage ride through control algorithms for the high power dcac inverters under the grid-fault conditions
· Can work dependently to use Matlab to build the average and switching model to build up the control concept for the isolated DAB converter and multi-level converters
· Hands-on hardware bring-up and qualification of power converters, and lab work as needed to support development/debug activities through the entire product lifecycle.
· Work with product deployment teams to track fleet performance, assess behavioral issues and help drive firmware improvements to resolve anomalies and deliver new product features.

What You’ll Bring
· BS or higher in Power electronics, Computer Science or proof of exceptional skills in related fields, with practical engineering experience.
· Capable of delivering top quality C code in a real time embedded environment.
· Strong power electronics converter control fundamentals.
· Strong skills in at least one of the following: matlab, VScode
· Strong experience with TI MCU’s peripherals such as ADC, DAC, PWM, Timers etc and communication protocols such as SPI, CAN, UART etc.
· Experience with unit testing, software in the loop, or hardware in the loop methodologies is desirable.
