任职要求
• Bachelor’s degree in Material process engineering, Mold Design or related field. • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, NX, AutoCAD) and a deep understanding of tooling design principles. • Proven ability to create and audit Tool Specifications based on the type of part, geometry, appearance requirement, raw material etc. • Comfortable with cross-cultural collaboration in multiple time zones (PST, CET, Asia) • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Willing to travel frequently (domestic and international) for business needs • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in injection mold tooling design, manufacturing, validation, and production support. • Proven experience developing complex, high-volume interior & exterior production molds for automotive. • Strong supplier management experience across North America, Europe, and Asia. • Demonstrated success driving tooling cost reduction, cycle time optimization, and quality improvements. • Technical Expertise: Expert knowledge of: * Multi-cavity molds * Family molds * Two-shot / overmold tooling * Insert molding * Gas-assist molding * Hot runner systems * Valve gate systems * Unscrewing mechanisms * Stack molds * High-cosmetic C…

工作职责
The Role We are seeking an experienced Tooling Expert to lead the evaluation, selection, and management of tooling requirements for new RFQs (Request for Quotations) and sourcing activities. As a critical member of the team, the Tooling Expert will focus on tooling design reviews, mold simulations, optimizing tooling solutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards for cycle time, quality, and cost. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient and effective production of plastic components for Tesla‘s supplier. This role is vital to our Supplier CapEx strategy, as tooling represents one of our high spend categories. Key Responsibilities • Tooling Design Review: Conduct thorough reviews of tooling designs for plastic components, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, manufacturing requirements, and customer specifications • Collaborate with engineering teams to design and develop tools optimized for cost efficiency and quality standards • Mold Flow Analysis: Utilize mold flow analysis software to simulate the flow of molten plastic into molds, identifying potential issues and optimizing tooling designs for efficient production • Work closely with Tesla supplier chain, engineering, SIE, Tier1 & tooling suppliers during the RFQ process to develop and quote tooling solutions that are optimized for process, cycle time, quality, and cost. • Assess the capability of tool suppliers to be included in Tesla tool supplier list. • Problem-Solving: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve tooling-related issues, including part quality problems, process inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to improve tooling processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance overall manufacturing efficiency • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of tooling designs, analysis results, and process improvements • Implement and uphold industry standards in tooling processes, ensuring all tools meet Tesla’s rigorous quality requirements. Stay updated on the latest advancements in tooling technology and techniques to continuously improve our tooling capabilities
