Must • 3+ years’ experience in managing large scale Linux based environments • Rich experience in analytic and tune from kernel to application level to boost the performance at a given hardware specs. • Experiences in monitoring systems, preferably Prometheus and Grafana. • Scripting proficiency in SHELL, Python or other program languages. • Experiences with configuration management systems, such as Puppet, Ansible • Extensive knowledge of fundamental infrastructure services (TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, DHCP, SAML, PKI). • Experiences in running and managing Kubernetes based services and applications. • Strong analytical, communication (both written and verbal), and problem solving skills. • Ability to maintain documentation and provide training effectively in collaboration with a global team. • Continuously adapt and prioritize constantly changing environment and business requirements. Preferred • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or Information Technology. • RHCE, RHCA, ITIL related certifications will be a plus. • Fluently speaking and writing in English.

The Role Tesla is looking for a technical and industry-experienced engineer to join a team of talented engineers. As part of Tesla IT Operation team, we are responsible to deliver 7x24 system infrastructure and provides a portfolio of services including configuration management, engineering tools, identity access and control, managing public, private cloud infrastructure, ensure security and extreme reliability is our fundamental design principal, the candidate must be hands-on on day-to-day basis with experience in building, operating and driving reliability and security for production systems at scale. Responsibilities • Responsible for the design, deployment, and support of manufacturing systems and network infrastructure. • Provide support for China-based infrastructure build-out, including datacenter, Linux system (both virtualized and bare-metal servers). • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux server environment. • Ensure the reliability of the existing systems to guarantee uptime and availability of core infrastructure services. • Perform root-cause analysis of complex issues ranging through hardware, operating system, application, network, and information security platforms. • work with different business units to identify, plan, test and deploy or upgrade Linux system according to business requirements. • Partner with teams from across the organization to help tackle hard problems in a collaborative, high velocity environment. • Tackle issues across the entire stack: hardware, software, network and application. • Managing engineering tools and platform such as GitHub, Artifactory, etc. • Perform analysis, troubleshooting, and introspection on core infrastructure components and handle incident response. • Creating and maintain well documented knowledge base and be a mentor of junior engineers. • Take on call role and respond quickly to emergency bridge and provide quick and effective solutions to minimize system downtime.

The Role Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Linux Firmware Development Engineer for the Wireless Systems team to develop best in class telematics solutions. The role involves design and validation of wireless connectivity firmware/driver solutions for telematics systems across Tesla vehicle platforms (S, 3, X, Y, ...). The position requires working closely with cross-functional teams to enable connectivity stack integration, factory production and connectivity SoC provisioning , SoC firmware upgrade, SoC fusing and wireless connectivity self-test routine, also root cause customer raised system firmware related issues. This position involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with tight timing constraints. Responsibilities o Integrate connectivity stack provided by SoC vendors into Tesla operating system. o Develop new features in well organized, efficient, and scalable C/C++ code. o Work closely with global firmware development and production team to keep delivering high quality firmware for manufacturing. o Contribute to factory provision process to improve HW failure rate and ensure performance of cellular connectivity of the in-house production line o Root-cause issues reported from different test scenarios/steps and customers especially on Linux kernel, Linux network, BSP, driver, etc. o Contribute to rapid prototyping and evaluation of Tesla’s next generation wireless platforms.
