Reports to: Product Engineering Manager Job Description The Product Engineer will collaborate closely with the design engineering team on new product introduction, and with key suppliers and contract manufacturers on sustaining engineering and cost reduction, to expedite time to market and revenue ramp of high bit rate optical coherent transponders. Key Essential Functions: 1)Lead the yield improvement, drive product, process, quality improvements. 2)Lead the product debug and RMA activities and drive related action to closure. 3)Support cost modelling and lead cost reduction activities with cross function team. 4)Perform and coordinate DFX activities with design, test and process engineering teams. 5)Analyze and correlate performance of key parameters spanning device to sub-system levels to optimize in-process and final test specifications. 6)Create product trouble-shooting guides. 7)Lead failure analysis, root cause identification and corrective action implementation of components, sub-systems and field failures. 8)Approve readiness for volume manufacturing.
As the IT System Product Manager and Business Partner in Tesla, you need to take the full responsibility of product design and implementation which includes the business department engagement, IT system design, development management and the global IT team coordinating. This position requires a strong understanding of business processes, operations, and required documentation on production planning, shift management, production order execution, routing management, quality control as well as the product cost calculation. Excellent interpersonal communication skills is a mandatory. You should be an analytical and agile problem solver who can work with many stakeholders to drive cross-functional teams to a common goal. Responsibilities • Business partner to understand business pain points and gather their cross functional IT requirements in the TPM area. • Design digital product solutions for the pain points and requirements. • Manage fast-paced cross-functional projects from end-to-end, covering a range of programs and subsystems . • Develop and manage project plans and ensure on-time delivery. • Work together with manufacture and supplier chain product manager with strength and confidence through rapid development cycles, changing requirements, and uncertainty. • Drive execution and completion of multiple projects at the same time across internal and external stakeholders. • Cross-functionally communicate at company management level key developments and updates on new projects.
• Lead operations reliability testing and failure analysis in the development and sustaining stage • Drive and manage standard methodologies and findings across data sets to improve ORT and Failure analysis efficiency • Research and strategically implement iPhone system, module reliability testing to continuously improve system quality and field product usage model during mass production stage • Drive alignment and transition of reliability testing from NPI to MP • Working with commodity managers and supplier quality engineers to ensure component quality & reliability • Making recommendations to improve design, process and test • Strategic identification and prioritization of issues identified in ORT • Lead failure analysis of issues identified in ORT and coordinate cross functions to drive corrective actions through deep FA • Succinctly communicating technical updates to the executive team
