The Opportunity: Expert Research Scientist on Polyfunctional Robot Mechatronics System Are you an exceptional engineer and researcher passionate about bringing cutting-edge robotic designs to life? Do you thrive at the intersection of mechanical, electrical, and control engineering, with a keen eye for optimizing physical performance and reliability? We are seeking an outstanding and highly innovative Expert Research Scientist on Polyfunctional Robot Mechatronics System to join our core research team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the research, design, development, and integration of advanced mechatronic systems that form the physical backbone of our next generation polyfunctional robots for industrial environment. This is about creating the actuators, sensors, power systems, and physical structures that enable our robots to move with strength, precision, and endurance. ________________________________________ What You Will Do: • Research & Design Advanced Mechatronic Systems: Lead the research, conceptualization, and detailed design of novel mechatronic components and integrated systems for polyfunctional robots (actuators, sensors, power, compliant mechanisms). • System Integration & Optimization: Drive seamless physical integration and optimization of mechanical, electrical, actuator and sensor components, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and manufacturability for polyfunctional locomotion and manipulation. • Mechanical Design & Analysis: Perform advanced mechanical design, modeling, and simulation (FEA, multibody dynamics) to optimize robot structures, kinematics, and dynamics. Design mechatronic systems with a strong focus on manufacturability, assembly efficiency, and ease of maintenance for production scalability. • Electrical System Design: Design and integrate electrical systems (power electronics, motor drives, wiring, safety circuits) for signal integrity. • Thermal & Power Management: Develop and optimize solutions for thermal management, power distribution, and energy efficiency across the robot's mechatronic systems. • Prototyping & Testing: Lead rapid prototyping, assembly, and experimental testing of mechatronic components and subsystems, validating performance. • Functional Safety & Reliability: Incorporate functional safety principles (ISO 13849, IEC 61508) into mechatronic designs for inherent safety and reliability. • Collaboration & Documentation: Work with control, embedded systems, and AI/perception engineers to ensure mechatronic designs meet system requirements. Document designs, procedures, and results. This includes o Collaborating closely with System Integration Engineers for overall system assembly and validation, and to ensure mechatronic safety features are integrated and validated at the system level, and that mechatronic components are seamlessly integrated into the overall robot platform and meet system-level performance. o Providing detailed specifications to Embedded Systems Engineers for hardware interfacing and detailed mechanical and electrical specifications for hardware-software interface design and power management. o Collaborating with Control Engineers to ensure mechatronic designs support advanced control strategies and provide physical feedback. o Working closely with Perception & AI Researchers to understand sensor requirements and physical constraints for optimal perception system design. ___________________________________…
