Qualifications Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 5+ years in robotics software architecture, focused on embodied AI. Expertise in at least three: perception, planning, navigation, manipulation, HRI, or affective computing. Experience with robotics frameworks (e.g., ROS), simulations, and hardware. Proficient in machine learning (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and programming (C++, Python, Java). Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and teamwork. Adaptable, willing to travel. Innovative, proactive learner. Fluent in Mandarin and English. Preferred Experience with VLMs, multi-modal learning, and VLA systems. Deep knowledge of Android OS and embedded real-time systems.

About the Role TCL Industries seeks a visionary Embodied AI Architect to lead software architecture for next-generation home assistant robots. You will design intelligent, interactive systems, integrating perception, planning, navigation, manipulation, HRI, and emotional modules. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive robotics innovation. Key Responsibilities •System Architecture: •Design and oversee end-to-end software architecture for embodied AI in home robots. •Define interfaces and protocols for system components. •Manage sensor and camera data for informed AI decision-making. •Guide middleware, simulation, and tool selection. •Integration & Optimization: •Ensure seamless integration across hardware, AI algorithms, and cloud services. •Profile, debug, and optimize system performance. •Establish best practices for development, testing, and deployment. •Collaboration: •Work with hardware, data science, and product teams to align technical and product goals. •Cooperate with researchers to design and develop advanced algorithms for perception, reasoning, planning, human-robot interaction (HRI) and emotional intelligence •Strategic Input: •Contribute to long-term vision and planning. •Represent the lab at conferences and industry events.

· Lead strategic analysis on global trends in Physical AI, including autonomous driving, embodied intelligence, robotics, and sensorimotor foundation models. · Continuously monitor and benchmark key players (e.g., Tesla FSD, Waymo Robotaxi) and emerging technologies in North America and globally. · Conduct exploratory research on cutting-edge technologies related to world models, multimodal large models, and planning frameworks in AI. · Produce high-quality technical and strategic insight reports for internal stakeholders to inform roadmap and business decisions. · Collaborate with R&D and product teams to shape future research directions and support decision-making with clear, data-driven foresight. · Participate in academic engagements, including paper drafting and submission to top-tier AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, CVPR, ICRA, RSS).
Strategic Leadership: · Research and formulate the development of AI technology and business strategies, covering areas such as autonomous driving, embodied intelligence, physical AI, generative AI, etc. · Drive cross-functional collaboration to identify emerging opportunities and define roadmaps for AI adoption and innovation. Technology Trend Analysis: · Monitor global AI advancements, competitive landscapes, and regulatory changes (e.g., AI ethics, compliance frameworks) to inform strategic decision-making. · Evaluate cutting-edge technologies (e.g., LLMs, reinforcement learning, multimodal AI) and assess their potential business impact. Ecosystem Development: · Build partnerships with academia, industry consortia, and startups to foster co-innovation and leverage external expertise. · Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with research institutions, industry associations, and other key stakeholders, and represent the company at conferences, technical committees, etc. Insight Delivery: · Produce strategic and technical insight reports and presentations for executive leadership to inform global perspectives for business planning, and translate insights into strategic recommendations.
