1. Primarily you will be a very crucial part of the virtual team from Germany for public policy, regulatory affairs, compliance and issue management related to Vehicle Automation & Safety. You ‘sit’ in the regional office which needs a lot alignment between HQ and country offices but you will also ‘act’ in a timely manner to critical issues and sometimes liaise or lead unified programs and activities for the whole region in your domain. You need to collaborate closely with R&D, product planning, test and engineering, homologation, legal and compliance colleagues and external agencies. 2. One of the mandates for this position is to maintain a holistic analytical approach of policy and legislation development at both EU and UNECE levels related to Vehicle Automation & Safety in order to identify opportunities and risks. 3. Develop communication narratives and draft briefing materials and presentations, and advocate legislative, regulatory, and public policy positions in close collaboration with XPENG experts. Support XPENG’s mission of promoting a rapid transition to a much safer and securer advanced assisted driving and automated driving. 4. Being entrepreneurial, build and maintain healthy relationships with various external stakeholders including EU institutions, key member states’ governments, regulatory bodies, trade associations, and assess and explore potential local and regional business relationships and partnerships. Address external stakeholders’ expectations of XPENG in Europe and support steady growth of partnerships. 5. Participate in relevant events and represent XPENG in meetings and organize engagement activities. Explore and develop related collaborative projects.
Automotive Public Affairs Manager (EU and Belgium/Netherlands) Responsibilities • Monitor and analyse EU legislative and policy developments with a focus on automotive, e-mobility, digital and trade policy, and assess their business impact. • Develop and implement EU public affairs and advocacy strategies aligned with the company’s commercial and regulatory objectives. • Build, manage and maintain relationships with EU institutions, including the European Commission, European Parliament, Council, Member State representations, industry associations and relevant NGOs, as well as stakeholders in Belgium and the Netherlands. • Draft clear and concise policy briefings, position papers, consultation responses and internal management updates on regulatory risks and opportunities. • Represent the company in meetings, hearings, roundtables, working groups and industry events in Brussels and across Europe. • Coordinate closely with internal teams such as business units, legal, sustainability, and communications to ensure consistent policy positioning.

Interpretation and Implementation of Policies and Regulations Track tariff policies, trade agreements (such as RCEP, USMCA), and customs regulatory developments in key global markets (such as the European Union, the United States, Asia Pacific, and Latin America), and provide real-time interpretation and compliance recommendations. Develop a customs strategy for cross-border delivery under the Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) model to ensure compliance throughout the entire process, including customs clearance, tariff payment, packaging standards, and certification requirements. 2. Customs compliance management Design and optimize global customs compliance standards, including country specific access regulations. Lead internal compliance audits, respond to customs inspections, anti-dumping/anti subsidy investigations, and reduce the risk of violations. 3. Tariff calculation and cost optimization Study the corresponding tax calculation formula and integrate tax rates when exporting and importing according to national laws and regulations. Provide the system's tax calculation capability under DDP mode. And delve into tax saving schemes such as tariff exemptions and transfer pricing. 4. System and tool support Promote the digital upgrade of the customs affairs system and realize the system upgrade functions related to customs policies. Develop customs risk warning tools (such as tax rate changes, monitoring of prohibited and restricted goods). 5. Cross departmental collaboration and training Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and legal teams to ensure end-to-end trade compliance. Regularly organize customs training to enhance the team's policy sensitivity and practical skills.

Provide in-depth analysis of mobility industry policies and regulations related to Xiaomi’s business in Europe, identifying and monitoring potential risks and giving policy advice. 3. Coordinate mobility industrial association memberships relevant to Xiaomi’s business and develop and manage a network of contacts with industrial partners. 4. Represent Xiaomi’s position in regular interactions with different actors in government, think tanks, international organizations and other public agencies. 5. Collaborate cross-functionally with local business units (such as R&D, sales and marketing teams) and provide support for relevant issues. 6. Assist the mobility team to conduct policy analysis and facilitate activities on European level.

Provide in-depth analysis of digital industry policies and regulations related to Xiaomi’s business in France and wider Europe, identifying and monitoring potential risks and giving policy advice. 3. Interact actively with industrial associations relevant to Xiaomi Business and develop and manage a network of contacts with industrial partners. 4. Based in Xiaomi’s Paris/Billancourt office, coordinate internal and external stakeholders to formulate Xiaomi’s position to relevant policy topics. 5. Represent Xiaomi’s position in regular interactions with different actors in government, research institutes, international organizations and other public agencies. 6. Collaborate cross-functionally with local business units (such as sales and marketing teams) and provide support for relevant issues. 7. Apply for relevant licenses and certifications where government approval is needed. 8. Assist the French team to conduct policy analysis and facilitate activities on French and European level. 9. Lead in relevant CSR projects and assist HQ or France business region in CSR-related topics or activities. 10. Coordinate IP-related advocacy activities.
