Minimum Qualifications • MS in CS/EE/Imaging/Physics/Optics/AppliedMath • Knowledge in one of the following: camera calibration, lidar or other depth sensor, computer vision, image processing, AI/ML, optical instrumentation • Sufficient programming experience in at least one of Matlab/Python/C++ languages • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills, with native fluency in Mandarin-Chinese and proficiency in English. • Ability to work well in a collaborative, highly multi-functional and fast pace environment. • Cooperate with cross functional and multidisciplinary teams to specify camera FMEA risk, develop and deploy calibration and performance validations stations to reduce camera product risks throughout the NPI cycle • Work with equipment vendors to design the perfect equipment from scratch for calibrating and verifying the performance of Apple products • Specify and acquire instruments, components and tools for use in an NPI environment • Run simulations or experiments to make data driven decisions and present results to senior management • Design, develop, debug and optimize algorithms to meet with accuracy and precision requirement for camera calibration and performance verification • Generate reports that analyze large amounts of NPI camera performance data, and present at both working level and executive level meetings • Up to 10% domestic and international traveling
You will be responsible for designing and developing objective solutions for calibrating, characterizing, and testing display modules and components for Apple products. You will work on system design, development, validation, and production deployment during the New Product Introduction (NPI) stage, with support from SW/HW cross-functional teams. Develop industry-leading calibration and metrology methodology and solutions Develop macOS SW interfacing with various HW systems utilizing common communication interfaces such as SPI, 12C, TCP/IP, USB and instrument-specific SDs Develop automation software and test sequences that control optical instruments, electronics driving boards, fixture controllers, and display modules. Work with team to define calibration & measurement SW requirements Conduct SW/FW FA of measurement tools.
This individual will play a key role in computer vision/image processing algorithms design and development to enable display and other optical components calibration and metrology. You will work closely with cross-functional groups to ensure the success of current and future Apple display/optical products. Candidate will be responsible for, - Specify, design and implement metrology and calibration algorithms during Apple new product introduction (NPI) process and mass production - Develop, optimize, qualify and debug the algorithms and software - Integrate and validate the algorithms in manufacturing test equipment - Evaluate efficacy of the algorithms as compared to human visual inspection - Define algorithm performance verification specs and review existing algorithms - Collaborate with other team members to deploy the algorithms/SW to factories during the NPI process - Analyze large amounts of NPI performance data
