• QUALITY PLANNING: • Apply solid understanding of quality control and manufacturing concepts to be responsible for the development of specific Product Quality Plans (PQP) appropriate to program • Evaluate and communicate the yield and outgoing inspection quality of new and existing processes • Drive corrective actions cross-functionally with internal and external team members • Develop and implement groundbreaking quality inspection tools • Identify and direct studies to implement improvements where appropriate • Establish audit procedures appropriate to program and supplier to ensure adherence to Apple quality standards • Collaborate with internal and external groups to ensure that proper definition of quality expectations and that appropriate assurance techniques are used for the product. • CONTRACT MANUFACTURER QUALITY MANAGEMENT • Assess CM production control and quality programs, identify shortfalls to expectation, and directly secure agreement to correct • Review PQP with CM and other Apple functional groups to optimize factory quality programs • evaluates CM readiness and adherence to PQP at all development and qualification stages • monitor quality performance through measurement of production line statistics, company inspections, and audits. • Prepare summary of performance and communicate to appropriate management • PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT: • - Build and lead a strong quality team • - Promote apple culture, empower and enable each individual • - Team member career planning

The Role: As a Sr.Software Quality Assurance Engineer - Audio, you will work with consumer application testing expertise. You will join the team of hands-on, pro-active, self-motivated and seasoned SQA professionals. In this role, you will: - Create test plans and test cases - Efficiently execute test cases across all functional areas of our products especially have expertise in Audio. - Review product user interface for conformity to design guidelines - Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution - Interpret and report testing results, and be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process - Work with Software Development Engineers to understand the overall technical architecture and how each feature is implemented - Collaborate with US teams and domestic partners in acoustic lab setting up and management
• In this highly visible role, you will manage selection, implementation & optimization of manufacturing processes for mechanical enclosure subassemblies for our legendary products. • Responsibilities include developing new manufacturing processes to enable future product designs, conducting DOEs to validate process capability, and qualifying processes for mass production. • You will utilize your Mechanical Engineering experience and work cross functionally with Product Design Engineering and Industrial Design to assess product features for manufacturability, and recommend capable production processes and equipment. • You will work closely with Cupertino-based MDEs in the development of above said processes. • Partner with Global Supply Managers to develop new equipment from RFQ through factory implementation, and manufacture and deliver material to downstream supply chain nodes on time and on cost. • You will work with Supplier Quality Engineers to drive yield improvement through analyses of part quality, defect pareto, and SPC. • A heavy emphasis will be on working with suppliers to define and refine mechanical tooling and fixtures, and establishing process capability and readiness. • Coordination of activities and direction through clear communication between the Asia and US-based teams, and vendors is a necessity. • You may audit supplier secondary processes and assembly processes as well as support product phase builds from prototype through ramp and mass production. • Provide leadership at manufacturing sites during development and product production ramp, and drive engineering issues to resolution • Use data to drive process decisions, basic data analysis, DOEs, SPC, etc. • Design best-in-class process based on cosmetic and drawing requirement, mapping out and document process flow and details which includes selecting processing equipments, designing corresponding fixtures/consumables/magazines/trays, initiating DOEs to find out the best machine setups, machining path and parameters, and finalizing the process solution from prototype stage to mass production stage. • Define part tolerance and specifications by demonstrating process capability to Product Designers and Industrial Designers • Own yield improvement actions and process change decisions based on statistical process control (SPC) data analysis. • Identify, research, develop, and qualify premier equipment manufacturers and suppliers
About the Role: Tesla's Electronics Supplier Industrialization Engineering team plays a crucial role in developing and qualifying critical component and electronic part top-level assembly processes with our suppliers. We provide regional support for New Product Introduction (NPI) and legacy product management within the supply chain. This encompasses everything from early supplier sourcing assessments (in collaboration with the Tesla sourcing and design teams) and make-sourcing decisions, to industrialization and quality control activities. This position demands excellent communication skills, strong supplier management expertise, a willingness to travel domestically and internationally, and the ability to make critical decisions in time-sensitive situations. The role supports a diverse product portfolio, including low/high voltage products, controllers, audio and sensing projects, and optical lens and camera projects. Responsibilities: Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles during early product development, providing valuable feedback to NPI SIE (Supplier Industrialization engineer) and design teams. Conduct onsite supplier audit and provide assessment for sourcing decision, develop new suppliers to meet Tesla sourcing requirements. Drive continuous improvement in supplier scalability, cost, and quality performance. Manage and optimize supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance. Oversee supplier production capacity and operations management. Facilitate clear communication of technical requirements between suppliers and Tesla's GSM, SIE, and Design teams. Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with part performance, delivery, and reliability expectations. Collaborate with Tesla supply chain teams to establish optimal performance specifications and supplier metrics. Lead, track, and improve supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness for new products and design changes. Manage and enhance production and product quality. Guide suppliers in developing robust processes and procedures for efficient, high-quality product manufacturing. Follow up and drive SCAR (supplier corrective actions review) with supplier. Validate supplier corrective actions for design and/or process changes, ensuring they are sustainable and implemented across manufacturing lines and suppliers to prevent recurrence. Contribute to the evaluation of new or alternative materials for improved design, manufacturability, or cost reduction.
