工作职责
About the Role: Tesla's Electronics Supplier Industrialization Engineering team plays a crucial role in developing and qualifying critical component and electronic part top-level assembly processes with our suppliers. We provide regional support for New Product Introduction (NPI) and legacy product management within the supply chain. This encompasses everything from early supplier sourcing assessments (in collaboration with the Tesla sourcing and design teams) and make-sourcing decisions, to industrialization and quality control activities. This position demands excellent communication skills, strong supplier management expertise, a willingness to travel domestically and internationally, and the ability to make critical decisions in time-sensitive situations. The role supports a diverse product portfolio, including low/high voltage products, controllers, audio and sensing projects, and optical lens and camera projects. Responsibilities: Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles during early product development, providing valuable feedback to NPI SIE (Supplier Industrialization engineer) and design teams. Conduct onsite supplier audit and provide assessment for sourcing decision, develop new suppliers to meet Tesla sourcing requirements. Drive continuous improvement in supplier scalability, cost, and quality performance. Manage and optimize supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance. Oversee supplier production capacity and operations management. Facilitate clear communication of technical requirements between suppliers and Tesla's GSM, SIE, and Design teams. Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with part performance, delivery, and reliability expectations. Collaborate with Tesla supply chain teams to establish optimal performance specifications and supplier metrics. Lead, track, and improve supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness for new products and design changes. Manage and enhance production and product quality. Guide suppliers in developing robust processes and procedures for efficient, high-quality product manufacturing. Follow up and drive SCAR (supplier corrective actions review) with supplier. Validate supplier corrective actions for design and/or process changes, ensuring they are sustainable and implemented across manufacturing lines and suppliers to prevent recurrence. Contribute to the evaluation of new or alternative materials for improved design, manufacturability, or cost reduction.
THE ROLE As battery design engineer, you will participate into Tesla future battery development from sketch concept to mass production with cross functional team around the world. The role requires strong engineering/physics fundamentals and the tenacity to apply that to hands-on problem solving. Tesla designs battery from the first principles. So you need to make every design decision from concrete engineering analysis, such as tolerance stack-up for every millimeter space, mechanical stress analysis, thermal heat transfer map, electrical resistance calculation. Tesla moves quickly, so being self-motivated and disciplined is critical. You must be passionate, but direction changes quickly, so you must also be resilient, boundaryless, and ready to adapt all the while being excited to do so. This role is for the hands-on do-it-yourself type personality wherein you take direct responsibility and direct action; be the first to jump into “driver’s seat” when solving problems. You must be comfortable being outspoken and assertive while maintaining healthy and trusting working relationships with your peers and suppliers. This role requires people skills amongst the technical skills. This role requires a chameleon, a high aptitude, boundaryless “do whatever it takes” even if it’s not a typical mechanical design engineer role. You need to be the person that everyone says, “that person is awesome; they know how to get stuff done!” You should be as comfortable with gloves and hard hat as you are with a keyboard in front of you. RESPONSIBILITIES What You’ll Do • Work with cross functional team to define battery specification (dimensional, functional, performance, manufacturing) • Design complex parts and assemblies, from 3D/2D concept to prototyping and assembly • Benchmark and developing new technologies, supported with early process development • Owning basic testing and analysis; supporting advanced testing and analysis • Root cause test failures and propose corrective actions •Close, active supplier relationships •Develop and execute new technologies that improve product metrics (performance, cost, mass), independently identify and lead improvements to existing products •Support local supply-chain parts readiness & quality, need to wear multiple hats at times and overlap with SIE/Quality teams. •Sustaining design work including BOM changes, part revisions, drawing revisions, scrappy bench-tests to characterize part/product problems, factory or field teardowns, etc. •Domestic and international travel to support production launch and ramp (supplier visits, on-site at Tesla factories, etc.)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB • To perform Electronic design function in product design • To implement technical solution for product design • To ensure quality and robustness design according to project needs • To check and test product to guaranty technical performances during product lifetime. • To coordinate and collaborate with project team to achieve project objective: cost, lead-time, quality. REGULAR RESPONSIBILITIES • To perform Electronics design for best performance • To check and do actions/corrective actions necessary to guaranty the performance of products design • To define and follow the plan, project schedule closely for delivery • To validate design and action, in answering to Senior Engineer • To comply Schneider processes and ensure strictly adhere with • To report/feedback to his supervisor for all critical, important, difficulties faced in his work • To ensure safety rule are strictly adhere with at all time
