Minimum Qualifications
BSME or equivalent (MSME, MSIE desired), majors in Mechanical / Electrical /Computer science engineering
5+ years of experience in an Engineering or Engineering Lead role
New product introduction and Manufacturing Operations experience desired.
Proven track record of cost reduction, project management, and engineering design required.
Understand and build product/automation machine / manual alignment fixtures tolerance stack-ups (GD&T principles) according to 3D files (@ both assembly & part level).
Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and English.

Supports manufacturing research and development to solve complex problems that have a direct impact on the final product cost, quality, and delivery of Apple products. Under broad goals and objectives, exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in suggesting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to complex problems. Provides assistance to set up standard practices and independently resolves impact to design approaches and parameters to the final product. Applies extensive expertise in all facets of mechanical product design. Provides advice, guidance, and resources to other engineering groups and project leaders as well as factory technicians. Supports a variety of projects and participates in the project planning of major sub-projects. Keeps abreast of all relevant technical trends and developments and incorporates them in appropriate assignments. Supports software solutions used to scale, secure, and shape the automated assembly and test systems used to manufacture Apple products. Collaborate closely with cross-functional Apple teams, vendors, and contract manufacturers to define factory systems requirements, architecture, and design. Maintain and improve existing visualization and statistical analysis programs that provide intelligent business insights. Performs assignments in several of the following manufacturing engineering functions: Design for Manufacturability - Provides early and ongoing manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are mechanically manufactured. Product Engineering - Supports all phases of a product from concept to repeat manufacturing to end of life. Provides production support engineering technically complex testing methods, procedures, and failure analysis. Process Engineering - Designs and develops technically complex processes to improve quality and efficiency.

Production process development, documentation, optimization and validation. Development and implementation of new technologies to improve production quality, capacity and efficiency. Sets standard practices and independently settles impact to design approaches and parameters to the final product. Provides direction, mentorship and resources to other engineering groups and project leaders as well as factory technicians. Act as lead engineer on a variety of projects and participates in the project planning of major sub-projects. Performs assignments in several manufacturing engineering functions: - Design for Manufacturability: Provide early and ongoing manufacturing involvement to ensure manufacturability of new products. - Product Engineering: Works all phases of a product from concept to repeat manufacturing to end of life. Provides production support engineering with respect to technically complex testing methods, procedures and failure analysis. - Process Engineering: Designs and develops technically complex processes to improve quality and efficiency. - Failure/Data Analysis: Plans, develops and implements technically complex procedures for the testing and evaluation of soon to be released products. Specifies test to be performed, compiles data and makes recommendations for product design changes and final assembly standards. This will include the use of Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis using Six Sigma principles. - Provide regular VP level communication of technical health of program.
