- Experienced in manufacturing processes of plastic and metal parts
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills including working knowledge of data analysis and statistics
- Familiar with GR&R and DOE.
- Experience working onsite with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Familiarity with Pro/Engineer and MS office suite
- Fluent in English.

The Mechanical Process Engineer (MPE) works closely with teams located in both the US and China throughout the design cycle. As a member of the MPE team, you will be responsible for supporting mechanical part manufacturing and decorative processes, providing design recommendations to the design team (ID & PD), driving engineering studies, and improving part yield rate. You are responsible for closely monitoring and driving the above activities at suppliers. In addition, you will work closely with the TPM team on giving timely feedback of technical risk, and continuous communication of the status of engineering issues throughout the product development cycle to a cross functional audience. The Role: • Identify and develop mechanical part manufacturing and decorative processes • Review and develop part/sub-assembly process flow, including process fixture concept and DFM • Monitor supplier process capability through continuous engagement and engineering studies • Work with suppliers to provide design feedback and recommendations including features and tolerances • Drive and approve technical data documentation throughout the development cycle including FAI, CMK, CPK, GR&R, and DFM • Drive technical issue resolution at suppliers throughout the development cycle • Travel domestically and internationally to supplier sites as projects require

You will be responsible for crafting and developing industry leading optical calibration and metrology systems for testing optical modules and components (e.g. display panels and much more), during NPI (new product introduction) stage, with the supports from SW/HW multi-functional teams. Initiate, explore, prototype and deploy new technology for module and key optical component testing to support product design and development. Provide technical assessments of vendor capability, tester manufacturing feasibility, and validate and influence supplier’s technical specification to fulfill design requirements and key performance matrix characterization bring up. Define calibration & measurement Engineering Requirement Specification (ERS) for optical instruments and automated systems. Conduct HW/SW validation and FA for metrology instruments and systems. Deep dives in new tester prototyping, FA, scale up through simulation, design of experiments, data analysis and technical benchmarking (Gauge R&R process). Involved in tester related component, module and system level process, design and spec funneling to enable manufacturability in high volume. Champion new technology transfer to manufacturing partners from research/pilot line to ensure scalability. Provide crisp and thorough presentation and report, on subjects listed above. And connect with a broad range of multi-functional teams.
• Work closely with Senior MPE team members in supplier monitoring and reporting open issues • Participate in the review and development of part/sub-assembly process flow, including process fixture concept and DFM • Assist in the organization of technical data documentation throughout the development cycle including FAI, CMK, CPK, GR&R, and DFM • Travel domestically and internationally to sites as projects required • Can work 5 days per week during summer holiday for at least 3 months duration • Is willing to work in Shenzhen

Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity. As a PE TPM in our team, you will be responsible for closely monitoring and driving China side activities including DFM, tooling release, process qualification, and material preparation for builds. Working closely with Material Manager (MM), Product Designer (PD), Mechanical Process Engineer (MPE), Tooling Engineer (TE), Global Commodity Manager (GCM), Supplier Quality Manager (SQM) and Reliability Engineer (REL). PE TPM is also responsible for driving suppliers to ensure the schedules on track, issues resolved and quality requirements met. The Role and Major Responsibililities · Overall program owner for mechanical components development · Act as focal point for all Asia side Mechanical Component Development · Drive risk mitigations with Asia based teams and communicate outward to a cross functional audience · Maintain close communication with the US based core team members such as PD, System TPM and ID to ensure issue resolution and schedule · Work closely with Mechanical Process Engineering teams, Tooling Engineering teams, and suppliers to keep tooling and material schedules on track · Lead critical issue resolution throughout product development cycles. · Travel domestically and internationally to supplier sites and Amazon US as needed to keep project on schedule · Drive and track mechanical material readiness for Engineering builds · Lead meetings to keep supplier facing cross functional teams organized and focused throughout design cycle · Lead meetings to make good sync up between China based teams and US based teams · Work with cross-functionally managing a diverse group of engineering, operations and product management professional proficient at creating and tracking complex development schedules, tracking risks and issues
