THE ROLE
As a mechanical design engineer, you are expected to be innovative and will play a critical role in the core development team for Tesla next generation products. You will analyze and optimize our revolutionary designs with your expertise; contribute to defining the best product in the industry along with a group of talented engineers. You will be brilliant both technically as an individual, and as an active member in a diverse and challenging cross-functional team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
l Develop and apply advanced methodologies with smart analysis techniques to drive innovation into Tesla products.
l Perform analyses for feasibility of manufacturing, assembly, and service processes. (Static load simulation and DOE)
l Perform analysis for thermal dissipation effectiveness. (Thermal simulation and TTI measurement)
l Perform strength and fatigue analysis of power electronics products. (Reliability requirement derivation and fatigue simulation)
l Support world-class engineering teams with design direction based on your analyses and engineering judgement.
l Lead problem solving for testing/manufacturing findings.
REQUIREMENTS.
• Bachelor's degree from Engineering department is required. Master's or PhD’s degree is preferred.
• Theoretical knowledge of finite element analysis.

The Role We seek a highly motivated hands-on engineer for a position in the Low Voltage Test Engineering group, a team focused on creating robust testing equipment for our vehicles low voltage components. This team concentrates on mechanical, electrical, and software test systems supporting our production lines around the world. THE ROLE Tesla is seeking a skilled and motivated mechanical design engineer in the Autopilot, Infotainment and Electronics Product Design team. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to perform mechanical design activities for Tesla vehicle systems, including to define product requirements and develop specific implementations. RESPONSIBILITIES Top to down modeling and design of mechanical components and sub systems including plastics, sheet metal, heat sinks, PCBs, I/O connectors, etc. Design analysis including parts, structural, design for assembly, and design for validation. Experience with failure analysis, root cause, and solution implementation internally and at contract manufacturer as well. Assist in engineering prototype quick builds and components fabrication. Complete validation tests, perform data analysis, brainstorm potential solutions and implement improved designs. Provide production support to help identify and resolve issues on site.
