Must
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Technical Writing, English, Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in written English.
Ability to edit and create documentation that is accurate, complete, clear, specific, and concise.
Ability to explain technical concepts to peers, people from different parts of the organization, and non-technical people.
Aptitude with transcribing written words from non-native speakers.
Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with various communications media and advanced formatting and presentation skills.
Must be organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and evaluate priorities.
Nice to have
Experience with HTML, XML, DITA, Markdown, Git, SQL, and/or Python
Experience with Japanese or Korean is a plus
Experience with LLM is a plus

Position Description
Tesla is seeking a detail-oriented Intern to support our service engineering team in editing, refining, and managing technical content. This role is perfect for students passionate about technical writing, content curation, and ensuring high-quality, accessible documentation. You will gain hands-on experience in reviewing and optimizing complex technical materials, collaborating with teams, and enhancing content clarity—while developing a deep understanding of Tesla's technologies and details, such as electric vehicle systems, autonomous driving features, and energy solutions.

The Department
The responsibility of Service Engineering, as part of Vehicle Software Engineering, is to provide end to end engineering solution based on customer needs, to improve product's reliability, serviceability, sustainability and to implement changes to the customers based on high iteration speed.

Key responsibilities:
Partner with engineering teams to create and update diagnostic information and procedures contained in the diagnostics knowledge base for use by non-engineers.
Collaborate with various engineering and quality teams to gather technical information.
Understand technical problems and communicate them effectively to non-technical people.
Validate information for accuracy and use a routing and review process for document approval.
Edit content according to a style guide and enforce organization standards.
Improve editorial and visual standards for documentation and recommend new designs, layouts, and formatting as needed.
Manage tasks and information flow using collaboration software (such as JIRA, SharePoint, and custom databases).
Create and improve internal engineering process documentations
Translate technical regulations and communicate with engineering team
