The Role Tesla is seeking a Senior Service NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineer to help scale Charging Service Engineering’s capabilities to monitor, maintain, and upgrade a diverse fleet of Charging Products. Service NPI Engineering helps accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy by driving improvements to the systems and parts used to maintain Tesla’s fleet of Charging Products – like Supercharger and WallConnector. They will be responsible for driving rapid solutions to some of the most challenging problems, collaborating with every aspect of Tesla’s business including but not limited to finance, design engineering, reliability, manufacturing, service operations, service, part lifecycle planning, logistics, business analytics, technical publications, training, and tooling. [Qualifications] Self-starter who is goal oriented, highly motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Ability to juggle multiple projects and products at once and adapt to shifting priorities Excellent presentation and communication skills with both internal teammates and external parties Comfortable with calculated risk and making decisions quickly with limited information Innovative & creative: you question existing processes, suggest new solutions, and act quickly Effectively influences without authority: you can convincingly lead others in cross-functional settings to deliver what's best for the group at large [Responsibilities] Push RCA and service mitigation workstreams forward across multiple teams and across a wide range of technical problems; Manage the development of processes, tools, and teams that ensure the long term health of the global Tesla Energy products portfolio, including developing service procedures and efficiencies, tooling, data analytics and alerting, workflow development, business processes, remanufacturing, design for manufacturability tradeoffs, and return on investment analysis. Drive a sense of urgency and commitment within a cross-functional team, solving complex problems and facilitating solutions across departmental boundaries and even outside of Tesla. Track and concisely communicate the process of multiple concurrent projects to diverse audiences; Develop, measure, and innovate on processes to efficiently gather and implement feedback from various stakeholders. Plan for part and product transitions from service, that include key considerations such as warranty, spares/inventory planning, customer communication, and risk analysis. Assist in the upkeep of the Service Bill of Materials (SBOM) by developing systems to identify and implement changes to part numbers. Identify, scope, prioritize, and drive cross functional parties to improve service processes to support the efficient growth of Tesla Energy Design and implement improvements to Tesla’s Part Data Management Lifecycle to increase part consumption forecast accuracy, prediction of part failure, and Tesla Service’s ability to measure effectiveness of service actions. [Requirements] Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Electronic Engineering with 3-5 years of work experience; Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese; Solid foundation in engineering principles and intuitive problem solving skills, proficient knowledge of electrical, software, firmware or process failure modes; Collaborative, self-driven, goal-oriented, proactive, able to work smoothly with internal and external teams and adapt to a fast-paced multinational work environment; An innovative and creative thinker with the ability to challenge existing processes and quickly propose new solutions; Result-oriented with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing requirements.
