• Bachelor degree of Polymer Material Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Organic materials related. Advanced degrees or equivalent experience preferred
• Fundamental knowledge of polymer materials and components build procedures and related affects to final VOC performance
• 5 years+ development and VOC management experience in Auto industry
• 3 years+ Experience with VOC/Odor analysis, recovery and issue management.
• Familiar with VOC/Odor development process under vehicle design and launch process.

As a VOC/Odor Engineer, you will work with the product engineer, materials engineer, Homologation, manufacturing, quality engineer, supplier and program teams during development and sustaining phases of the program to ensure vehicle cabin air quality meet design target. Role: The team is seeking a VOC/Odor engineer to lead VOC/Odor attributes development, it includes VOC/Odor attributes management through the whole program lifecycle, target setup with Homo team, tools and method development and inhouse testing management. This role is responsible for ensuring Tesla shanghai to deliver low VOC/Odor vehicles. Responsibilities: • Setup Vehicle level VOC target by collaborating with Homologation and develop timing plan for new production. • Break down system and components target, deliver to design team and get alignment. • Tracking and manage components material via concept design phase, collaborate with engineer and supplier chain to ensure VOC proposal in POR and robust. • Propose low VOC/Odor proposal and solution for Tesla vehicle productions. • Vehicle and components VOC/Odor testing and issue management. • Identify high emission root cause and provide recovery plan proposal. • Support materials engineers in the requirement definition of VOC/Odor of raw materials. • Provide technical support to the quality teams with respect to potential material non-compliance on VOC/Odor.

RESPONSIBILITIES · Working alongside Designers to define products that are as aerodynamically effective as they are aesthetically pleasing. · Developing aerodynamic and aeroacoustics concepts in CAD; evaluating and refining them using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and other numerical tools. · Defining and executing wind tunnel, road and track test programs. · Analyzing and documenting test and simulation results; presenting findings. · Exploring, defining and implementing innovative techniques to deepen data accuracy and fidelity. · Providing feedback to the Programs teams and Executives on aerodynamics and aeroacoustics attributes and development status. · Working with engineers to perfect part execution for aerodynamics and aeroacoustics and resolve design conflicts. Supporting Vehicle Dynamics, NVH, AP Hardware, Test and Modeling teams in vehicle level attribute optimization and characterization. · Developing tools and methods used within the Aerodynamics & Aeroacoustics team.
