Must • Knowledge of EVSE safety standards and regulations (codes), e.g., GB44263, GB39752, GB/T 18487, GBT20234, GBT34657, GBT27930, IEC/KC 61851, IEC/KC 62196, UL 2202, UL 2594, UL 2231, UL 2251, etc . Knowledge of EMC standards (GBT18487.2, IEC 61000 series, FCC, etc.) • Knowledge of EVSE related electrical safety standards, e.g. IEC 60664, IEC 60529, IEC 60695, IEC 60884, IEC 60947 IEC 60364, IEC 61439, etc. • Previous experience working, negotiating and interfacing with certification bodies (UL, TUV, DEKRA, Intertek, SEARI, KTL, KTC, JET, etc.) • Experience with hands-on EVSE testing and proficiency with laboratory tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators etc.) • Fluent in English and Chinese. The Role Tesla, Inc. produces leading-edge technology, world-class designs, and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes to create a new generation of electric vehicles and charging/energy products. We are building a technically strong, fast-moving team that prides itself on superior execution. Tesla’s Test and Regulatory Compliance organization is looking for a skilled and motivated engineer to provide regulatory compliance support in the areas of safety, EMC, Grid code and communications/controls protocol for the development of charging equipment that will operate in China and throughout the world. This role is an integral part of design covering the full product life cycle to ensure relevant standards are met, performing, and supervising compliance tests, and managing certification activities with internal and/or external Test Labs. The role also involves representing Tesla in various industry/government associations and on committees maintaining and developing standards for charging equipment. Responsibilities • Product compliance & performance validation from concept to production. Review product designs to prevent and resolve non-compliances and incompatibilities. • Plan, coordinate, execute and/or support both internal and external Test Lab compliance testing • Support continuing compliance activities both before and after product certification • Monitor relevant standards defining charging systems in China/APAC and around the world and maintain and disseminate the knowledge to the rest of the engineering organization • Influence the development of international/China charging system standards by providing technical input at meetings and joining associations, committees, and working groups

THE ROLE As a member of the off-board firmware development team, you will be responsible for validating the firmware on our superchargers, adapters, and various other types of high voltage charging equipment. Come join a team of knowledgeable engineers to build the next generation of robust EV charging infrastructure using cutting edge software development tools and practices. RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop and execute tests for new firmware features. • Lead and own firmware validation, new feature definition, firmware regression, and firmware releases. • Capture CAN traces and investigate problems. • Support with certification efforts as needed. • Develop tests to validate functionality ( SIL, and system level). • Automated test sequence and analysis development in Python. • Help with system integration / bring up of new hardware. • Actively participate in team discussions to make performance and optimization trade-offs. • Respond to problems in the field and support the service team with practical, quick solutions to issues that affect the live supercharger fleet.
