Context Is a driving force in solving complex technical issues (EL2-EL4) within its own competence and collaborates in teams to solve cross-modular technical issues. Works independently within own field of expertise. Gathers and analyzes related data, draws logical conclusions, prepares advice and other documentation; both during manufacturing as install. Provides expert training to support internal and external customers. Has advanced knowledge of tooling and can use them for in-depth analysis. Is a recognized escalation manager and mentors new hires.
In this role, you will: * Lead multiple electrical design and validation on multiple products across Amazon device portfolio * Research test/validation technologies and methodologies across factory and lab environment * Develop and execute detailed electrical validation test plans to ensure functional and parametric conformance * Drive debug and root cause of hardware design issues, qualifying trade-offs and user impact * Serve as the in-region technical liaison between US-based design teams and China-based manufacturing partners * Provide on-site electrical engineering support at manufacturing facilities in China * Drive hardware bring-up, debug, and failure analysis at manufacturing sites * Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives and manufacturing process optimization * Own and resolve electrical design issues across xVT phases, while driving validation status reporting across mile-stone gates * Leverage AI tools and/or write scripts where feasible to automate for efficiency * Support positive team interactions to accomplish program objectives * Coach or mentor junior electrical engineers

Job Mission and Role Purpose This position is responsible for managing the Applications Engineering team and Customer Support HMI team in the China region. Reporting to the Head of Customer Support, China, the role involves developing and executing long-term strategies and tactical goals for regional application engineering. The incumbent will lead the organization to achieve sector strategies, objectives, and technology/product roadmaps. As a core member of the China Customer Support Management team, the role also involves driving business and people initiatives across the CS China organization. Role and Responsibilities · Plan, set up, and execute hands-on validation and compliance tests on Tesla energy products in our Shanghai laboratory. · Develop detailed test plans, meticulously document test procedures and results, and author comprehensive technical reports for internal and external stakeholders. Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues discovered during testing, collaborating with design engineers to find solutions. · Clearly communicate test outcomes, key findings, and project status to engineering and management teams. · Prepare and configure Power Conversion Systems for external testing and provide on-site technical support at third-party labs to validate PCS performance, safety, EMC and grid connection interoperability. · Represent the company in key standards development organizations (e.g., GB/T, IEC, CENELEC) and industry associations to actively shape future technical regulations. · Lead and manage local / global certification projects for Tesla's Energy products, including battery storage and grid-interface systems.
