- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define project design criteria and develop the Basis of Design (BOD). - Manage consultants to implement the project from schematic design through design development to construction documents. - Oversee the design-build contractor to ensure the project meets the business and technical needs defined in the BOD. - Provide construction administrative support to the project manager during construction, including tasks such as responding to RFIs, issuing technical bulletins, reviewing submittals and shop drawings, and conducting source inspections at vendor factories. - Work with the Commissioning (Cx) Agent, contractors, and operations team to complete various levels of startup and commissioning, including Integrated System Testing (IST). This includes reviewing Cx scripts, closing critical punch-list items before IST, and tracking/closing global commissioning QA/QC items. - Collaborate with HQ and data center operations teams to incorporate the latest lessons learned from operations into new greenfield design projects. - Review engineering calculations from consultants and conduct independent engineering and cost analyses. - Research new designs, materials, and construction methods for data center HVAC equipment and related components. - Travel to data center sites for engineering studies, mechanical systems audits, startup testing, and full commissioning as required. - Provide guidance to design consultants and installation contractors, ensuring the quality of installed work. - Take ownership of tasks and work proactively to achieve goals with good team spirit. - Respond to emergencies on an as-needed basis.
The Role The Infotainment Product Engineer will work closely with our Radio and Antenna engineering teams to support the launch and sustain the product lifecycle at our regional Service Centers and Gigafactory Shanghai. This role is an essential part of product development teams to understand the Design, Function and Quality metrics of our product. The role will then take this knowledge and work with our Gigafactory teams to protect for the products function and quality before, during and after our vehicle assembly process. This same knowledge will be used to support our Service Centers with any product concerns. This role will also work closely with our suppliers on any related product concerns or improvements. This engineer will be an integral member of our product development team and share the responsibility of holding our innovative product to a high level of customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: • Share the responsibility for the best execution of our infotainment products into our cars to the end of life • Collaborate on the development of multiple products with multiple cross functional teams: Electrical & Mechanical Design, Reliability, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, and other Engineering Teams • Interface directly with our design teams to clearly understand the hardware and software integration of our infotainment system and its components • Work in a complex and dynamic automotive assembly line and collaborate with the variety of manufacturing teams • Support our Project Managers by maintaining a progress tracking system that details and accounts for the variety of development tasks needed during a product lifecycle • Work with our Suppliers and Supplier Industrialization Engineers on the design, function, quality and launch of our infotainment products • Interpret, document and manage product CAD, drawings and specifications • Understand our product’s reliability, durability and environmental constraints (temp, humidity, vibration) • Support our product homologation and regulatory compliance • Troubleshoot our products, analyze and report potential root causes, and work to implement solutions • Support our Factory Firmware, and Field Service Engineering Teams in debugging our products with relative SW applications • Work with our Product Development, Factory and Service teams in testing our Radio & Antenna products at the component and system level

The Tesla Sensing Team is responsible for architecting, designing, validating and integrating state-of-the-art sensing technologies for all Tesla vehicles. The sensors we develop support ADAS (Autopilot), Safety, HVAC, chassis and other subsystems. We are looking for a Software and Algorithms Engineer to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. As a Sensors Algorithms Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, prototyping, implementing and validating the algorithms for various sensors. You will work closely work with platform software engineers, hardware design engineers, mechanical engineers to address issues discovered from development through deployment, understand and debug hardware and software interactions from prototyping through product launch, manage priorities and support a host of projects simultaneously. Responsibilities • Design and develop the algorithms given the sensor product requirements and the feature definition. • Breakdown the feature definition into viable use cases to aid with the implementation and testing of the algorithm • Modeling and simulation of system designs to demonstrate performance metrics • Develop unique solutions and efficient implementations of algorithms for challenging applications • Work with the Hardware design and Mechanical engineers to prototype the implementation • Define and lead the execution of experiments and trials to collect data in lab or field • Use common industry signal processing tools such as IDL, MATLAB, Python (Pytorch) or C++ to analyze data and generate algorithms • Work with the Platform Software engineer to optimize or implement the design on embedded platform in the production software • Validation: generate/execute the test plan that includes milestones that focus on de-risking product and/or feature deployment and align with the program timeline • Collaborate with a broad range of cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, program management, and senior leadership • Potential for broad range of problems and need to have the willingness to learn and tackle new problems • Define KPIs and design framework to assess the performance of the algorithms in production
