The role involves development and execution of validation and characterization methodologies for Apple’s touch solutions, from proof-of-concept to mass production. The engineer acting as a Direct Responsible Individual will be responsible for: - Leading the development and execution of engineering validation and characterization methodologies for Apple’s touch solutions across different products - Driving strategies with multi-functional teams, including test, firmware, software, mechanical design and reliability engineering to deliver groundbreaking touch solutions - Designing metrics and figures-of-merit to guide touch design and performance tracking - Architecting and designing HW & SW infrastructure with pioneering robotics for innovative test solutions - Managing vendors to implement validation tools, plans and infrastructure at vendor sites - Performing failure mode analysis with advanced analysis tools to drive root cause diagnosis and system-level problem solving - Authoring reports and communications pertaining to key results and checkpoints - Business travel (Primarily within China. To a lesser extent USA)
• Working closely with the development teams, early in the product development lifecycle, to define functional and performance tests. Be the key person concerning calibration, test stations and diagnostics to ensure the product performs at the highest level • Responsible for leading all the ongoing factory tests being conducted in the Mobile Group, for new product introduction from prototype to mass production. • Responsible for the development of test procedures, test plans and test reports. Developing/executing project plans. • Specifying/implementing test process control and data collection, detailing all the ongoing tests. • Be the key liaison between our organization and our Contract Manufacturers • Interact with internal groups at Apple to ensure that tests are being performed adequately and on time. • Responsible for communicating to executives, upper management and technical staff on the progress of our product development and calibration/ test maturity. • This position requires ability to deal with dynamic and fast-paced environment requiring decision-making with ambiguous information.

You are responsible for provide the leadership to the sDRI team, to develop and integrate system solutions that is flexible and mass-production friendly to calibrate and inspect fully assembled devices. The team will work on system design, development, and factory deployment during new product introduction (NPI) stage, with the support from SW/HW functional teams. - Manage a team of 5+ engineers with strong leadership and problem solving ability. - Work closely with design engineers, vendors, and operations teams to drive delivery of integrated systems aligned with overall project schedule - Act as lead system integrator, monitoring overall project status & securing / allocations resources needed to succeed - Lead prototype build activities; driving schedule, tracking issues to closure, managing experiments, and reporting progress - Cross-functionally communicate key developments and updates on new projects/products - Drive the day-to-day activities to meet the overall program objectives focusing on process within engineering design, build, and validation cycles
