Minimum Qualifications • BS or MS in Engineering or Computer Science or minimum of 7 years of proven experience • Strong fundamentals actuation, control systems design, and motor control. • Skilled in rapid integration, prototyping, calibration and testing of actuated and sensor systems. • Experience with embedded systems development, analysis and bringup. • Experience with C/C++ development • Strong in data analytics, root cause analysis with emphasis on data introspection • Experienced in test and debug of physical systems (sensors, actuators, algorithms) • Expert in Matlab and Simulink with direct experience with deployment on real time target systems such as dSPACE, Speedgoat, or National Instruments HW systems. • Experienced with hardware in the loop (HIL) automation • Experienced with serial communication protocols such as Ethernet, CAN, LIN, UART, SPI, I2C, BISS, etc… • Confident with source control (eg. In this role you will partner with controls systems developers, motor, actuation, sensor and power electronics engineers to develop and manufacture systems, test stations and evaluation benches for pre-production hardware. In this role, you'll bridge cutting-edge AI capabilities with robust hardware design, driving products from concept through mass production. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams (mechanical, hardware, software, and AI) to define the product vision, ensure technical feasibility, and deliver market-ready solutions. Key Responsibilities: 1. Product Strategy & Definition - Lead end-to-end product planning for full-system robotics solutions. - Conduct market research and user needs analysis to define technical specifications, commercialization strategies, and core performance metrics (e.g., motion control precision, multimodal interaction speed). - Own the PRD and establish clear product goals aligned with business objectives. 2. Technology Integration - Translate AI capabilities (motion control, environmental perception, decision-making) into hardware-ready solutions. - Coordinate structural, hardware, and software teams to integrate systems such as sensor fusion, joint actuation, and embedded controls. 3. Lifecycle Ownership - Manage the product journey from concept and design to mass production and delivery. - Define product roadmaps, set and track milestones (TR reviews / DCP decisions), and resolve technical or resource bottlenecks across departments. 4. System Validation & Compliance - Develop and oversee system-level testing, including functional, extreme load, and EMC tests. - Lead performance bottleneck analysis, optimize reliability, and drive CE/FCC certification. 5. Translate sensor design discussions into design documents in the form of system block diagrams, functional requirements, and performance requirements. Define sensor hardware and software interfaces. Support early sensor prototype development to de-risk new technologies. Define an integration test plan for sensing hardware products or software features with integration milestones that focus on de-risking product or feature deployment and align with the program timeline. Execute initial sensor bring-up and integration testing at the vehicle level to validate system design assumptions. Perform change impact analysis for change requests by summarizing impacted devices, interfaces, and processes in the hardware and software domain. Ensure sensing system is characterized across a host of environments. Support system validation teams in developing electrical and software test plans. Statistical analysis of manufacturing and user data to quantify performance of the sensor in system and vehicle level.
