Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or Computing is required • Strong fundamentals and proven experience in programming with one or more of the following: C, C++, or Objective-C. • Good solid understanding of RF fundamentals. • Good understanding and experience with testing of RF metrics for different technologies. • Good knowledge of the current wireless RF standards (e.g. Cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, etc.) • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Preferred Qualifications • Maser/Ph.D. degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or Computing is preferred • Excellent understanding of Cellular Protocols for LTE/5G especially at the PHY layer is preferred. • Proven understanding of Python, Perl or Ruby is a plus. • Knowledge or exposure of calibration algorithms (e.g. Tx power, XO, RSSI, Envelope tracking, IQ mismatch, etc.) • Knowledge of RF lab equipment including: spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, power sensors, switch controllers, combiners, etc. is a plus. • Good understanding and experience with testing of RF metrics for different technologies.

Candidate will contribute to a multifaceted software suite based on C/C++. Candidate will develop algorithms and solutions to validate and characterize RF/Wireless system performance. Candidate will develop new features to improve the RF automation testing system. Candidate will build script for the RF test data analyzing and processing. Candidate will analyze results in conjunction with multi-functional teams to identify and root cause issues.
- We expect you contribute to a multi-faceted software suite based on C/C++. - You will be joining the design and validation of RF calibration/testing algorithms. - You will be working on leading wireless standards. - You will be responsible for the design, validation and optimization of RF system level performance. - You will analyze results in conjunction with multi-functional teams to identify and root cause RF issues.
In this role, you will be a key member of the Systems Engineering team working on Physical layer control for 3GPP LTE and NR technologies. As a Wireless Systems Engineer, your day-to-day work will involve crafting and optimizing the fundamental control mechanisms that enable high performance cellular communication on Apple product. Your key responsibilities will include: Scope different physical layer control procedures in LTE and NR, identify performance trade-offs, and design innovative control procedures Identify dependencies between physical layer and upper layers to optimize control concepts Participate in cross-feature impact analysis to determine how physical layer procedures impact other systems and strive for jointly optimized algorithms Consider end-user experience and scalability aspects as integral parts of algorithm design Support hardware and software development teams from design through commercialization by defining test procedures and debug methodologies Collaborate with and lead multi-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet Apple's high standards for performance and user experience
- Seeking enthusiastic engineers who will be owning aspects of system HW development like driving product architectures, PCB/flex design, crafting optimized system validation plans, manufacturing test requirements, prototype bringup and testing, data analysis and issue debug. - Some travel to support manufacturing is part of the role. - Experienced team members will get to influence future AirPods architectures based on findings from optimally delivering their programs.
- You will develop understanding for an Apple-designed product through architecture block diagrams, schematics, datasheets, as well as interactions with the global design teams. - You will be responsible for circuit or sub-system design, including architecture, early derivation/simulation analysis, component selection, schematic capture, PCB placement, layout, bring-up, and validation. - You will interact with California design teams frequently; work closely with other teams in Greater China areas as well. - You will interact with our contract manufacturers’ EE teams, driving them to a high level of quality.
