You will parse fleet analytic data and work with Tesla Software Product Engineer to allow a future sustainable and improved product. You will develop and improve our internal engineering specifications. You will design and test new panels on the vehicle touchscreen to help service technicians diagnose and repair the different systems of the vehicle. Your outcome will have a lot of impact and travel within all Tesla vehicles worldwide! This role must be passionate about the product, highly self-motivated and a strong critical thinker with great fluency understanding technical system-level architecture and issues with software content. If you have solid coding skills, found of data-driven approaches, interested in maintaining contents and illustrations with high accuracy, willing to learn electric vehicle knowledge, and think implementing neat changes into Tesla vehicle is a cool thing, this is the role. The Department The responsibility of Service Engineering, as part of Vehicle Software Engineering, is to provide end to end engineering solution based on customer needs, to improve product's reliability, serviceability, sustainability and to implement changes to the customers based on high iteration speed. Responsibilities Data Analysis: Perform large-scale fleet analytics to identify, triage failure patterns and determining mitigation path using big data tools. Develop data dash Automated Diagnostics: Develop and test Python-based diagnostic logic to improve vehicles’ self-diagnostic capabilities. Web Development and Localization: Develop interactive technical illustration for clarity and localize internal engineering documentation. Front-end Development: Design, develop and debug diagnostic UI interfaces to enhance in-vehicle service experiences (https://service.tesla.com/en-US/service-mode).

RESPONSIBILITIES Design, develop, integrate, and validate onboard sensor algorithms; propose innovative solutions, implement and test them rigorously, and deliver high-quality results. Develop firmware for in-vehicle computers, ensuring system functionality, performance benchmarks, and safety/reliability standards are met. Analyze sensor performance data from Tesla's fleet of millions to tens of millions of vehicles, deriving actionable insights and conclusions. Build full-stack sensor data monitoring platforms, owning end-to-end development including data acquisition, processing, storage, backend services, and frontend interfaces. Identify and troubleshoot sensor-related issues reported globally across the vehicle fleet, propose solutions, and drive their implementation. Collaborate and coordinate cross-functionally with multiple teams to achieve shared project goals.

What to Expect The Role As a Software Development & Integration Intern on the Battery Management System (BMS) Team, you will have the opportunity to accelerate the delivery of quality Tesla products to consumer markets. You will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing firmware on high voltage systems. Your effort to create and improve battery management functions will have a direct impact on the reliability and convenience of the Tesla products as well as the customer experience. The Tesla battery team is extremely focused on the quality of users’ indicators (i.e. range, SOC, power, etc.) which directly plays into the overall experience and safety of the system as a whole. The team strives to create robust, efficient firmware and your responsibility is to ensure the code quality extremely high. You will also play an important role in our future technologies roadmap, including firmware support on different platforms and new products (packs, cells, etc) and those techs may also lead the whole industry to a new epic. What You'll Do Responsibilities • Develop, debug, and test software in C/C++ or other languages (e.g., Python, Java) for high voltage system applications. • Design, implement and test cutting-edge algorithms according to different standards for run-time control system. • Develop multiple systems interaction functions for new power features. • Participate in code reviews and troubleshooting sessions to ensure reliability and safety. • Document software design, implementation, and testing processes. • Develop Software-in-the-Loop infrastructure in a object-oriented fashion, making high degree of re-use of existing objects and objects that are highly reusable. • Follow safety protocols and industry standards for electrical systems.
