Responsibilities • Lead the end-to-end project management of art outsource, from kickoff to final delivery in collaboration with the Art Director. • Work with the Art Director to strategize around the outsourcing goal and build an actionable plan accordingly. • Maintain and expand the vendor pool, support new vendor trials with clear kick-offs, documentation, and expectations. • Develop detailed project delivery plans and track project progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to keep projects on track. • Manage and coordinate the daily communication and facilitate effective communication between vendors and Art Director. • Manage the feedback and approval process, ensuring clarity and constructive direction. • Maintain project documentation and provide regular status reports to stakeholders. • Ensure vendors are set up with proper certification, tools, and invoicing systems, support contracts, invoices, and timecards for vendors. • Implement and optimize project management tools (e.g., Trello, Airtable) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) for the art team.

Role The Sensing Hardware Team is responsible for architecting, designing, validating and integrating state-of-the-art sensing technologies for all Tesla vehicles. The sensors we develop support ADAS (Autopilot), safety, HVAC, chassis and other subsystems. As a Sensor Hardware Design Engineer, you will be responsible for overall performance of the sensing system and its features at any point in the product life cycle, serve as the owner of a given sensing system to address any issues discovered from development through deployment, understand and debug hardware and software interactions from prototyping through product launch, and manage priorities and support a host of projects simultaneously. Responsibilities Drive the design and execution of sensing subsystems through the following: Specification generation: distill sensor product requirements into constraints and actionable engineering systems design discussions Collaboration: lead cross-functional sensor design discussions with electrical, software, supply chain, manufacturing, thermal, and mechanical teams Architecture definition: translate sensor design discussions into design documents in the form of system block diagrams, functional and performance

Summary of the position This position in the Camera Engineering Team will focus on driving the design and engineering of various optical systems such as camera lenses, automotive glass parts through the use of state-of-the-art optical simulation tools and innovative technologies. This role will participant all aspect of design work from early architecture to final product assessment. As optics is linked to a variety of physical phenomena such as mechanics, fluid dynamics or thermals, the engineer will need to understand various aspects of the product design and think at the system level. The engineer will provide actionable feedback and design guidelines to the team members. Lab work is a component of the position especially for the characterization of lenses and coatings. This role involves collaboration with designers, engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams and requires the ability to distill highly technical information and effectively communicate with other teams and management. In this highly hands-on role, you will enjoy the key decision-making combined with the on-site problem solving and process set up for the best products in the world today. You will look after the process development, qualify the equipment and automation, set up the systems for state of art designs in a cosmetically fast paced environment. Specific areas of responsibility include the following: - Lead the development work of multi-type metal components, CNC manufacturing, surface treatment of Apple Watch products. - Design the CNC, surface treatment process based on cosmetic and drawing requirement, to be pioneer bringing up the new metal material, surface finish mechanism, mapping out process flow, selecting processing equipments, designing corresponding fixtures/slurries/wheels/sandpapers/magazines/trays, initiating DOEs to find out the best machine setups, cutter materials and coating process, mechanical polishing path and parameters, and finalizing the process solution from prototype stage to mass production stage, and finalizing the process solution. - Be deeply involving in working on multiple customized processes in the scope of: CNC, Polishing, PVD, Chemical Treatment, Sand Blasting, Anodizing, Cleaning, Laser etching, Automation etc. - Work cross functionally with Product Design Engineering to assess product features for manufacturability, and recommend capable production processes and equipment. - Work closely with Cupertino-based MDEs in the development of above said processes. - Work with Global Supply Managers to develop new equipment from RFQ through factory implementation, and manufacture and deliver material to downstream supply chain nodes on time and on cost. - Work with Manufacturing Quality Engineers to drive yield improvement through analysis of part quality, defect Pareto, and SPC. - A heavy emphasis will be on working with suppliers to define and refine mechanical tooling and fixtures, and establishing process capability and readiness. - Coordination of activities and direction through clear communication between the Asia and US-based teams, and vendors is a necessity.
