工作职责
• Lead the lifecycle, architectural design, and live iteration of core in-game systems, including items, runes, pin flows, and tactical signals. • Set quality and execution standards for structural systems, delivering high-clarity documentation and technical specs that enable seamless cross-functional implementation. • Partner with the Principal Balance Designer and Map Designer to ensure all systemic changes, itemization overhauls, or communication features safeguard competitive integrity. • Synthesize player feedback, high-level telemetry, and game data to diagnose systemic flaws or communication bottlenecks, driving long-term reworks and fresh feature additions.
• Deliver impactful features from concept to live, in a small cross-functional team • Think holistically about the game and proactively coordinate with the broader Brawl team • Generate creative design ideas for new systems and events • Gather raw ideas broadly and craft them into actionable design documents • Iterate on designs collaboratively, evolve them, over and over again • Explore design spaces deeply, and find edge cases • Quickly deconstruct key games and market shifts, and share insights with the team • Unblock and drive execution forward, with light or no Producer support • Review economy health, distill insights from metrics, and fine-tune values, with light or no Analyst support • Give input on new Brawlers and game modes • Cultivate a culture of inclusiveness, where good ideas can come from anyone
What You'll Be Doing • Prototype gameplay content (mechanics, enemies, level interactivity) by yourself with minimal dependencies on other disciplines. • On-hands design and iteration of new features, game mechanics and gameplay content • Collaborate with other disciplines to follow your designs from initial documentation through to final in-engine polish. • Support the development of the game with any additional skills.
• Design, implement, and improve gameplay systems that deliver engaging player experiences. • Develop multiple system design solutions and clearly communicate implementation trade-offs and associated risks. • Establish design principles and best practices for future systems design work. • Lead small cross-functional teams to develop gameplay systems aligned with product objectives. • Create clear design documentation that can be understood and implemented across disciplines. • Collaborate closely with designers, artists, engineers, and production partners to create cohesive player experiences. • Utilize prototyping, playtesting, and data-informed iteration to validate and improve system designs. • Incorporate feedback and continuously refine systems to achieve high-quality player experiences.
