Based in Hong Kong, this individual will be the key person of the Hong Kong AML Team to support Ant Group’s Alipay business. We are looking to hire a detail-oriented, hard-working senior compliance professional to join Ant Group. This person will work closely with regulators such as Hong Kong Customs and JFIU, other AML team members, legal, risk management, data privacy and other legal/compliance professionals, as well as Business, Product and Operation teams at Ant Group. The ideal candidate will be a confident self-starter with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, exercise good judgement, experienced in the relevant Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”), Counter-Terrorist Financing (“CTF”), and sanctions in remittance, payments or financial services industry, and with demonstrable ability to effectively and proactively engage and partner with the business in a fast-paced and engaging environment. Responsibilities: 1.Act as the focal point for the oversight of all activities relating to the prevention and detection of AML/Sanctions/CTF in Hong Kong; 2.Provide support / guidance to the senior management to ensure that AML/Sanctions /CTF risks are adequately identified, understood and managed, in particular to communicate key AML/Sanctions /CTF issues including significant compliance deficiencies; 3.Carry out risk assessment at the enterprise level and on products and services offered by Ant Group; 4.Provide support and guidance to the Business Development team in relation to AML/Sanctions /CTF issues; 5.Work with in-house AML product and technology team to select and implement relevant technology solutions; 6.Actively identify and report suspicious transactions by reviewing internal disclosures and act as the main point of contact with the Hong Kong regulators and law enforcement agencies. Implement effective SAR reporting procedures in accordance with the local requirements; 7.Ensure financial crime surveillance and intelligence in country is effective; 8.Develop and review the AML/Sanctions /CTF systems to ensure they remain up-to-date, meet current statutory and regulatory requirements and are effective in managing AML/Sanctions /CTF risks arising from the business; 9.Ensure AML/Sanctions /CTF staff training is adequate, appropriate and effective; 10.Conduct due diligence review on strategic business partner to evaluate potential AML/Sanctions /CTF risks.

Work with large data sets to analyze patterns, trends, and modus operandi of platform operation and governance issues (as well as merchants who perpetrate these issues). Make data-driven recommendations on prioritization of controls for platform governance and product compliance. Collaborate with PD, Tech, and Algo counterparts to build machine learning models and rules to detect assortment and user related operation and governance issues on the platform. Operate the risk engine, including the creation and continuous evaluation of rules to prevent and detect platform operation and governance issues. The AIDC Financial Compliance team is responsible for licensed financial services market entry, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, maintaining a country compliance program aligned with group compliance frameworks, and advising internal stakeholders on compliance matters. The team covers Lazada in Southeast Asia, AliExpress globally, and Daraz in South Asia. Responsibilities: Based in Thailand, the Thailand Financial Compliance Officer will have responsibility in ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, maintaining a country compliance program aligned with group compliance frameworks, and advising internal stakeholders on compliance matters, including: - Leading regulatory engagements and ensuring compliance with mandatory reporting requirements with relevant regulators and relevant internal and external stakeholders; - Advising on payments / lending / financial services regulatory matters, and assisting in the development and implementation of new products, features, and businesses lines; - Providing timely and quality regulatory advice for negotiations on strategic, complex and high value agreements; - Developing and implementing Group Compliance initiatives in-country, including – technology risk management, business continuity management, outsourcing, and consumer protection policies in line with local regulatory expectations and requirements; - Incident management (e.g. responding to regulatory investigations / inspections by authorities / assisting in PR incident responses/ submission of STRs); - Preparing for, and managing, audits and inspections by relevant regulators; - Localising and implementing Group-wide financial compliance programs and training for internal stakeholders; - Being the in-country champion in driving a culture of compliance; - Other additional duties as assigned.
- Perform holistic EDD assessments, with a primary focus on event-driven reviews. - Conduct screening and background checks on customers, related parties and counterparties to identify potential risks, including sanctions exposure and adverse media. - Analyse triggers for event-driven reviews and formulate well-structured Requests for Information questions to gather relevant information from customers. - Assess money laundering, terrorism financing and sanctions risk across customer profiles and transactions and provide well-reasoned recommendations on account management strategies. - Conduct investigations into high-risk customer profiles, suspicious transactions and unusual activities. - Prepare and submit STRs to STRO, ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting obligations and adherence to submission timelines. - Prepare insightful Management Information System reports for internal and regulatory reporting, including periodic updates to the Singapore AML team. - Proactively identify opportunities to enhance and optimise the design of EDD rules, processes and frameworks to align with evolving business needs and regulatory expectations. - Provide expert AML/CFT advisory support to business units as required. - Collaborate closely within AML team and other departments within the Bank. - Stay abreast of the latest regulatory developments in AML/CFT and ensure our processes align with industry-leading practices and regulatory guidelines. - Proactively prepare for and navigate regulatory audits to ensure the frameworks and processes remain compliant. - Support the AML team and Team Lead in executing key AML/ CFT initiatives/projects and other ad-hoc compliance matters as required.

Alert Clearance & Investigation o Conduct thorough analysis and resolution of name screening alerts (PEPs, Sanctions, Adverse Media) and Google screening alerts to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory compliance. o Document decisions and maintain audit-ready records. 2. Subject Matter Expertise o Serve as the SME for PEP, Sanction, and Adverse Media screening processes, staying updated on emerging risks and regulatory changes. 3. AML System Support o Investigate and resolve technical issues within AML systems, collaborating with AML tech team for bug fixes and enhancements. 4. Project Execution o Contribute and follow up AML initiatives including system upgrades, calibration of screening parameters, and regulatory remediation projects. 5. Training & Mentorship o Train and mentor junior staff on alert handling, due diligence, and AML best practices. 6. Ad-Hoc Tasks o Address urgent compliance requests, deep-dive investigations, and regulatory reporting as needed. 7. Risk Mitigation o Identify systemic issues in screening processes and propose corrective actions.
