We are seeking a highly analytical Market Researcher with expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, and a deep understanding of the Japanese market. This role will be pivotal in generating actionable insights to support strategic decision-making across product, marketing, and business development functions. Your day-to-day activities vary; and you will deliver recommendations based on your knowledge and findings to a large array of internal specialists: publishing teams, game creation teams, product & brand marketing; etc. You will also be working closely with the team lead to keep track of projects and timelines The role will cater to our studios in Japan and to external studios looking to explore opportunities in Japan. Your everyday missions will include: Liaise with internal departments to gather their research needs and provide appropriate quantitative research solutions. Translate business needs into research plans and develop questionnaires that meet the objectives of the study. Conduct market analysis for any upcoming games, using data analytics tools. Manage a project from A to Z with the support of internal and external toolsets. Support top profile game by providing suggestions for optimization, iteration, and polishing on game’s relating businesses in the globe, and help to formulate publishing strategy. Analyze data from multiple sources, and provide recommendations tailored to different departments and levels. Write clear, inspiring and actionable insight stories for stakeholders using data support. Stay up to date with developments in the mobile and PC/console game industry and beyond with particular attention to trends, social media, consumer behavior, and data/analytics. Champion consumer research across the company and foster a culture of decision-making based on consumer needs. Work in an agile and international environment. This role is both client facing and expected to conduct research independently. Key Responsibilities: Research & Insights: Design and implement full-cycle quantitative and qualitative research projects focused on the Japanese market. Liaise with internal departments to gather their research needs and provide appropriate quantitative research solutions. Translate business needs into research plans and develop questionnaires that meet the objectives of the study. Conduct or oversee moderation of focus groups, IDIs, and usability tests in Japanese (or with local moderators). Analyse quantitative data and qualitative findings to extract trends, patterns, and actionable insights. Produce clear and compelling research reports and presentations in English (and Japanese if required). Project Management: Own and manage research project timelines, milestones, and deliverables from kick-off to delivery. Develop and maintain project plans, tracking progress, identifying risks, and ensuring timely communication with all stakeholders. Liaise with local vendors, agencies, and recruitment partners in Japan to ensure high-quality fieldwork. Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to ensure delivery excellence. • Build and progressively expand the portfolio of local hotel partners by introducing prospective high potential partners to Trip.com proposition and facilitating the on-boarding process • Promote the Trip.com brand name and its online reservation services to hotels • Maintain best rate parity, availability and inventory of responsible hotels • Advise hotels on regular marketing campaigns and promotions • Responsible for the assigned market, and conduct the data research and analysis (market, product, competitor, price, supplier, etc.) • Other assigned tasks and projects etc.
