Position Overview: Meitu is looking for localization QA specialists to help localize our app and marketing content. You will review/translate in-app copy, promotional texts, user guides, etc., ensuring the wording is culturally appropriate, idiomatic and resonates with target users. Target Languages: Vietnamese Korean Japanese Portuguese (Brazil) Key Responsibilities: ● Verify that UI text, notifications, feature descriptions, and marketing content conform to local expressions and conventions. ● Enhance product localization quality by referencing the terminology used in mainstream local products. ● Continuously monitor target market trends, internet slang, and cultural contexts to improve localization quality.
Strategic Localization Leadership & Vision: • Define and execute comprehensive localization strategies for new game launches and live service operations, aligning with global business objectives and player experience goals. • Act as the primary localization advocate and team leader, providing strategic guidance to executive leadership and cross-functional teams. • Oversee localization budgeting, vendor selection, and performance management to ensure optimal resource allocation and high-quality localization output. Team & Stakeholder Empowerment: • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of localization professionals in Shanghai, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. • Cultivate robust relationships and drive cross-team collaboration with stakeholders, publishing teams, marketing, and legal to embed localization operations early and effectively into the entire game lifecycle. • Champion player empathy and cultural relevance throughout the localization process, ensuring content is not just translated, but truly adapted for each target market. Innovation, Process & Technology Optimization: • Drive the exploration, evaluation, and implementation of GenAI technologies - including LLMs - to enhance localization efficiency, scalability, and quality. • Lead initiatives for end-to-end process optimization across the localization pipeline, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions that deliver tangible improvements in speed, cost, and quality. • Expertly manage and fix localization workflows, building efficient processes and pipelines for Chinese-to-English and Chinese-to-multiple-locales projects, ensuring high quality, scalability, and seamless integration across teams and tools. • Leverage data and analytics to monitor performance, derive actionable insights, and drive continuous refinement of localization processes and technologies. Quality & Player Immersion: • Establish and oversee world-class linguistic quality assurance (LQA) processes tailored specifically for the nuances of game content, ensuring linguistic, cultural, and functional accuracy. • Implement best practices for terminology management, style guide adherence, and tone-of-voice consistency across all localized game content. • Proactively identify and mitigate localization risks that could impact player experience or global market reception. Industry & Market Expertise: • Stay at the forefront of localization industry trends, emerging technologies (especially in AI/ML for language), and best practices, particularly within the competitive global games market. • Maintain a deep understanding of cultural nuances, gaming preferences, and regulatory requirements across key international markets, with a strong focus on Asia.

Job Summary: As a Chinese-English Linguist, you will be an integral part of our localization team, responsible for translating, revising, and designing game narratives to resonate with English-speaking audiences. You will work closely with our development and localization project management teams to ensure the linguistic quality and cultural relevance of our games. Your expertise will help bring our games to life for millions of players around the globe. Key Responsibilities: - Translate in-game text, user interfaces, and marketing materials from Chinese to English with high accuracy and cultural sensitivity. - Perform linguistic revisions of translated content to ensure adherence to the highest standards of quality and consistency. - Craft compelling stories and dialogue that enhance gameplay and player engagement. - Conduct language quality assurance (LQA) checks to identify and rectify linguistic errors, ensuring that game content is free from grammatical and typographical issues. - Work closely with the development team to maintain the tone and voice of the original content, adapting as necessary for cultural differences and audience expectations. - Participate in creative meetings and provide linguistic insights into narrative development to avoid potential cultural misunderstandings. - Coordinate with the LPM team to manage project timelines, deliverables, and linguistic resources.
1、保障本地语言的整体质量: (1)负责商业化在目标市场的产品UI及文档质量; (2)识别和分析语言质量问题,并与LPM和跨团队合作共同制定改进计划; (3)制定适合当地市场的语言策略; (4)监督和执行本地语言工作,包括但不限于翻译、审校、创译/文案撰写、质量检查和LQA; 2、管理语言资产: (1)创建和维护术语表、TM、语言风格指南和QA清单; (2)制定本地语言资产的管理策略; 3、维护语言资源: (1)监控该语言外部译员的质量,包括但不限于进行抽检、培训和制定质量改进计划; (2)必要时与内部团队合作,征求专业意见; 4、与合作方沟通:作为该语言的主要对接人,与内外部团队合作,提供本地文化和语言相关建议; 5、制定实施适合当地语言和文化的流程和指引,确保本地化内容的一致性和质量; 6、管理本地语言项目时间线、质量指标并向合作方同步进度。 1.Ensure the overall quality of the assigned language: (1)Responsible for the language quality of the assigned market for the designated product interface and documentation; (2)Identify and analyze language quality issues and work on improvement plans with content project managers and XFN teams; (3)Initiate language strategy tailored for the assigned language; (4)Oversee and perform language tasks including but not limited to translation, review, transcreation/copywriting, quality checks and LQA; 2.Manage language assets: (1)Creation and maintenance of the terminology database, TM, writing/localization guidelines and QA checklists; (2)Develop a strategy to manage language assets for the designated language; 3.Manage resources available to the language: (1)Monitor the quality of external resources for the language, including but not limited to conducting quality reviews, trainings and performance improvement plans; (2)Connect with internal SMEs for expert opinion when necessary; 4.Bridge communication with stakeholders: Work as the prime contact for the assigned language, to work with both internal and external teams; Provide cultural and language-related advice; 5.Develop and implement language best practices, guidelines, and processes to ensure consistency and quality across all localized content for the language; 6.Managing language projects timelines, quality metrics, and reporting on progress to stakeholders.
