* Perform design and equipment submittal review for new Data Centers in your region. * Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures. * Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, including essential equipment, and event support. * Provide technical support to the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions, which add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency. * Supporting operating partners to lead, Review, and approve designs for existing data center upgrades which improve availability/efficiency. * Interface with operating partners, data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered by operating partners. * Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions. * Initiate and lead engineering site audits within leased or colo data centers. Produce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediation's. * Act as resident engineer during new construction projects. Support construction, commissioning, and turnover. You will prioritize your activities to support data center capacity availability and safety focusing on the actions that are most impactful. The Role As a Closures Systems Design Engineer, you will be responsible for conceiving, architecting, designing, and engineering the dynamic exterior systems of Tesla vehicles. You will work alongside pioneering Designers and Engineers through all stages of the product design cycle: From initial sketch and clay modeling, through architecture and design, and finally to validation and product launch. You will be part of the team that creates and executes some of the most notable hallmarks of Tesla design. Responsibilities Serve as a member of the Vehicle Engineering Team to support automotive body and closure system development for the Tesla vehicle product lines Conceptualize, design, engineer and launch structural components and assemblies for side doors, hood and liftgates for CIW (Closures in White) team Work side by side with Mechanisms, Sealing and Glazing Engineers to integrate and package components within each closure Achieve innovation-driven closure system targets for appearance, function, quality, cost and weight. Participate in the iterative process with the Tesla design and styling studio to deliver the optimal balance of form, function and quality Establish system level architecture and functionality based on market research, design feasibility and prototyping Work closely with body team to lead sealing flange and hinge axis development Support manufacturing processes and material selections to achieve world class execution of automotive exterior craftsmanship and fit and finish Optimize designs with the appropriate analytical and physical assessments Interpret/develop Tolerance Analysis, DVP&R, CAE, DFM, DFMEA, PFMEA simulations/results and integrate feedback into designs Manage and collaborate with key suppliers (both internal and external) to support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events.

Responsibilities • Serve as a member of the Vehicle Engineering Team to lead automotive body and closure system development for the Tesla vehicle product lines • Conceptualize, design, engineer and launch structural components and assemblies for system role including power charge door, lighting, and wipers. • Work side by side with side doors, hood and liftgates for CIW (Closures in White) team to integrate and package components within each closure • Achieve innovation-driven closure system targets for appearance, function, quality, cost and weight • Lead investigations which drive the Tesla Design and Styling studio to deliver the optimal balance of form, function and quality • Establish system level architecture and functionality based on market research, design feasibility and prototyping • Work closely with body team to lead master section, sealing flange and hinge axis development • Work directly with Manufacturing Engineering to define optimal processes to achieve world class execution of automotive exterior craftsmanship and fit and finish • Optimize designs with the appropriate analytical and physical assessments • Interpret/develop Tolerance Analysis, DVP&R, CAE, DFM, DFMEA, PFMEA simulations/results and integrate feedback into designs • Manage and collaborate with key suppliers (both internal and external) to support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/ production build events • Mentor junior designers and provide technique/approach guidance where needed between reviews

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define project design criteria and develop the Basis of Design (BOD). - Manage consultants to implement the project from schematic design through design development to construction documents. - Oversee the design-build contractor to ensure the project meets the business and technical needs defined in the BOD. - Provide construction administrative support to the project manager during construction, including tasks such as responding to RFIs, issuing technical bulletins, reviewing submittals and shop drawings, and conducting source inspections at vendor factories. - Work with the Commissioning (Cx) Agent, contractors, and operations team to complete various levels of startup and commissioning, including Integrated System Testing (IST). This includes reviewing Cx scripts, closing critical punch-list items before IST, and tracking/closing global commissioning QA/QC items. - Collaborate with HQ and data center operations teams to incorporate the latest lessons learned from operations into new greenfield design projects. - Review engineering calculations from consultants and conduct independent engineering and cost analyses. - Research new designs, materials, and construction methods for data center HVAC equipment and related components. - Travel to data center sites for engineering studies, mechanical systems audits, startup testing, and full commissioning as required. - Provide guidance to design consultants and installation contractors, ensuring the quality of installed work. - Take ownership of tasks and work proactively to achieve goals with good team spirit. - Respond to emergencies on an as-needed basis.
