Maturing and productizing new features entails a diversity of activities, including:• Architecting new designs to enable new functions or to improve performance. • Leading engineering efforts to develop, tune, and verify algorithms and software using fundamental physics, control systems, planning algorithms, and/or vehicle dynamics. • Debugging and addressing different issues identified in simulations and in test drives. • Collaborating with our globally distributed team to enhance the software architecture, improving development processes and tooling • Defining and verifying product requirements through detailed analysis, simulation, in-car testing, and benchmarking existing products. • Maturing prototype software to production quality.

The Role As a production Engineer of Interior trim Team in Tesla’s Vehicle Engineering Group, you will be responsible for Release and launch of interior components and systems for current M3 planned production and future Tesla vehicle product lines and also lead the part localization. You will be part of the team that creates and executes world-class interiors in terms of form, function and luxury. Commodities of particular importance include IP, Console, X Car Beam, Door Trim Panels, Hard Trim, Headliner Systems, Carpets, Insulators, Seats and Luggage Compartment Trim and the integration of these commodities into the vehicle. You will utilize your expertise in one or more of these commodities and develop as a full vehicle engineer – designing and delivering interior systems rather than just components as you work with a lean and agile team of the best automotive engineers in the industry. You will report to the Engineering Manager of Interior Systems. Core Responsibilities Along with Tesla’s vehicle engineering team, you will release and launch interior components and subsystems which are aligned with program product profile with responsibilities that include: Develop and execute interior system requirements for one or more of the aforementioned interior commodities Achieve customer-driven interior system targets for luxury, function, cost and weight Participate in the iterative process with the Tesla design/styling studio to deliver the optimal balance of form vs. function vs. cost Implement processes and quality to achieve world class execution of automotive interior craftsmanship and fit & finish Support in design optimization with the appropriate analytical and physical assessments You will Utilize DFSS methodologies as appropriate during the design, validation and launch of current and new programs You will interpret CAE simulation results and integrate recommendations into product design. You will collaborate with key interiormsuppliers and to support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events Your will collaborate with cross functional teams within the Tesla Vehicle Engineering, ManufacturingEngineering and Procurement groups to ensure interior system manufacturing and assembly feasibility and serviceability. You will be responsible for utilizing product engineering processes such as DFMEA and technical documentation - DVP&R and at times also Responsible for developing these documents. Follow up with suppliers regarding system/part level validation Follow up on Jig/fixture creation/validation for interior components. What you’ll be doing: • Develop, maintain and optimize performance KPIs necessary to deliver NVIDIA’s L2/L3/L4 autonomous driving solutions • Devise acceleration strategies and patterns to improve software architecture and its efficiency on our computers with multiple heterogeneous hardware engines while meeting or exceeding product goals • Develop highly efficient product code in C++, making use of algorithmic parallelism offered by GPGPU programming (CUDA)/ARM NEON while following quality and safety standards such as defined by MISRA • Diagnose and fix performance issues reported on our target platform including on-road & simulation
