工作职责


In this role, you'll be the in-region thermal expert, utilizing your deep knowledge of system-level and module-level thermal design and validation. 
Collaboration is key, as you'll work closely with U.S.-based peers on technology evaluation, design investigation, and process development for new products. 
Responsibilities also include guiding and executing thermal testing at OEM and supplier factories, from test setup, data analysis to report preparation. Experience in passive device thermal design is highly valued.
Establish and manage relationships with thermal suppliers to identify emerging technologies and collaborate on developing innovative solutions aligned with Apple's product roadmap needs.
Lead the way in suggesting and adopting innovative ideas to improve the productivity and quality of thermal components.
Provide in-region expertise for root cause analysis and corrective action of system thermal failures and defective thermal parts/materials.
Train engineers at OEM and vendor factories to produce high-quality products using well-defined specifications, advanced production processes, and up-to-date validation tools and codes.

THE ROLE As a Launch and Sustaining Engineer in Tesla’s Vehicle Engineering Group, you will be responsible for local release and launch of vehicle components and systems for upcoming Vehicle production in GFSH & Fremont. Commodities of particular importance for this role include Thermal Bar subassembly, AC Compressor, AC Lines, Coolant Hoses, Fluid Fil process, and the integration of these commodities into the vehicle. RESPONSIBILITIES Along with Tesla’s global vehicle engineering team, you will locally work with Lead Thermal Engineer to support release and launch thermal components and subsystems which are aligned with program product profile with responsibilities that include: • Support local changes, initiated by the Global team, of parts and systems according to Tesla Change Management process. • Support and scrutinize vehicle production to achieve highest quality production standards regarding the thermal and HVAC system through process analysis, regular observation of assembly process, interacting with Production Quality, Production and EOL repair teams. • Drive continued improvement to production processes and equipment to achieve highest quality standards if deemed necessary. • Implement processes and quality metrics to achieve world class execution of cutting-edge automotive thermal and HVAC systems. • Support the global team in design optimization with the appropriate analytical and physical assessments. • You will collaborate with key suppliers and support overall vehicle launch milestones and prototype/production build events. • You will collaborate with cross functional teams within the Tesla Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and New Product Introduction groups to ensure thermal and HVAC system manufacturing and assembly feasibility and serviceability. • Drive failure analysis to determine root cause and communicate with Global Engineering team to make implement design improvements.

The Role Mechanical engineering within the Low Voltage Wire Harness Engineer in our team. RESPONSIBILITIES Engineering design responsibility for a wide variety of electrical wire harnesses in Tesla vehicles, both in production and in development. Engineering responsibility throughout all stages: concept, requirements definition (iterative), prototype, detailed CATIA (V6) model, 2D drawing synchronized with electrical circuitry provided by the Wire Harness Electrical Engineer, vendor selection (support to Supply Chain), design validation and optimization in Beta and RC phases, volume tooling and processes for Start of Production and production ramp-up. Life-cycle improvements and cost reductions as needed. Make design decisions, and provide leadership in resolving electrical/physical integration and optimization issues with other internal Tesla parties on a daily basis, namely for example: Body, Low Voltage Systems, Infotainment, Audio, PCBA Design, Chassis, Interiors, Seats, HVAC, Environmental/Vibe Testing, CATIA Integration, CAE Crash Analysis, Vehicle Durability and Crash Test, Manufacturing Engineering, etc. Design to significantly reduce mass and volume/space and to optimize wire bundle routing in the vehicle, minimize NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness), prevent possibility of moisture ingress/damage. Work with Suppliers for Design-for-Manufacturability to reduce assembly complexity, cost and lead time reduction. Design components for ease and efficiency of manufacture, as well as ease and efficiency of installation in vehicles. Work with manufacturing and assembly process engineers for successful implementation. Work with SIE (Supplier Industrial Engineer) to setup and review production lines at suppliers, including any associated mechanical components. Support RC (Release Candidate – pre-production) with quick-turn parts and make sure installation works properly as design-intended incl. supporting with a subassembly fixture design prior to full vehicle being available. Highlight design concerns (such as high insertion force on connectors, grommet installation and sealing issues) or reliability concerns on detailed design features and drive the solution progress to remove these concerns through weekly tests, follow ups, upper management deep-dive reviews and cross functional team reviews. Closely work with Reliability team to ensure proper testing on finished designs (vibe, corrosion, torque-to-failure, EMI/shielding, etc.).
