What To Expect A key technical member of across-functional team that focuses on deploying stationary storage opportunities with cutting-edge technologies. You will be responsible for ensuring balance of plant equipment is commissioned correctly, as a key member of the team driving project delivery. The Tesla Energy team is committed and fast-moving. Members of our team display creativity, passion, and a desire to break new ground in a constantly shifting technology landscape What You'll Do Onsite for Commissioning, Acceptance Testing and Grid Interconnection Testing of BESS system and Balance of Plant equipment including electrical systems such as, Switchgear, relay protection, metering, MV/GSU transformers, cables and fire system. What to expect At Tesla Engineering China in Shanghai, we’re building the future of sustainable energy by developing innovative power electronics for energy storage and vehicle charging systems. Join our team to collaborate across different engineering areas, solve meaningful challenges creatively and transfer concepts from initial design, through prototyping and testing into real-world solutions. In this role, you will be at the forefront of market access and surveillance for the China / APAC region. You will not only launch cutting-edge sustainable energy technology by compliance testing in China / APAC but also navigate the complex landscape of China / APAC standards to secure Tesla’s products launch in the future. Role and Responsibilities · Plan, set up, and execute hands-on validation and compliance tests on Tesla energy products in our Shanghai laboratory. · Develop detailed test plans, meticulously document test procedures and results, and author comprehensive technical reports for internal and external stakeholders. Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues discovered during testing, collaborating with design engineers to find solutions. · Clearly communicate test outcomes, key findings, and project status to engineering and management teams. · Prepare and configure Power Conversion Systems for external testing and provide on-site technical support at third-party labs to validate PCS performance, safety, EMC and grid connection interoperability. · Represent the company in key standards development organizations (e.g., GB/T, IEC, CENELEC) and industry associations to actively shape future technical regulations. · Lead and manage local / global certification projects for Tesla's Energy products, including battery storage and grid-interface systems.
The Role Tesla, Inc. produces leading-edge technology, world-class designs, and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes to create a new generation of electric vehicles and charging/energy products. We are building a technically strong, fast-moving team that prides itself on superior execution. Tesla’s Test and Regulatory Compliance organization is looking for a skilled and motivated engineer to provide regulatory compliance support in the areas of safety, EMC, Grid code and communications/controls protocol for the development of charging equipment that will operate in China and throughout the world. This role is an integral part of design covering the full product life cycle to ensure relevant standards are met, performing, and supervising compliance tests, and managing certification activities with internal and/or external Test Labs. The role also involves representing Tesla in various industry/government associations and on committees maintaining and developing standards for charging equipment. Responsibilities • Product compliance & performance validation from concept to production. Review product designs to prevent and resolve non-compliances and incompatibilities. • Plan, coordinate, execute and/or support both internal and external Test Lab compliance testing • Support continuing compliance activities both before and after product certification • Monitor relevant standards defining charging systems in China/APAC and around the world and maintain and disseminate the knowledge to the rest of the engineering organization • Influence the development of international/China charging system standards by providing technical input at meetings and joining associations, committees, and working groups
