1. Conduct in-depth safety-related market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and industry best practices. 2. Suggesting improvements to existing business strategies to drive safety reality, perception, and/or efficiency. 3. Drive key safety management topics, including but not limited to OKR management, Budget to payment closed-loop management, etc. 4. Develop and implement strategic initiatives and action plans to drive business performance and achieve company safety objectives. 5. Monitor and evaluate the progress of strategic initiatives, identifying potential risks and recommending adjustments as needed. 6. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement by developing and maintaining financial models for various business units and projects. 7. Stakeholder management: building and nurturing strong advisory relationships with key external and internal stakeholders on key new initiatives related to international safety
As a Battery System Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, and design innovative consumer product. You will work closely with an internal interdisciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition and execution. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. In this role, you will: 1. Lead the design, development, and delivery of Li-ion battery system per performance and safety requirements 2. Drive battery development from NPI through mass production 3. Research and evaluate emerging battery technologies 4. Collaborate with product teams to define battery specifications 5. Design battery protection circuit and pack design for NPI programs include schematic design, and component selection. 6. Develop and review battery pack schematics, BOMs and layout to meet design requirements 7. Conduct system and design reviews, failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA), and risk assessments 8. Analyze and resolve battery-related issues in production and field 9. Perform battery safety assessment and design for safety 10. Support battery certification processes (CTIA/IEEE1725) 11. Manage and coordinate with CMs (contract manufacturers) on battery development for NPI programs 12. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners

The Role: Tesla’s Power Electronics group is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to perform mechanical design activities for our power converter products to be used in Tesla vehicle powertrains and energy storage products. Responsibilities • Modeling and design of mechanical components and assemblies for power electronics converters including plastics, sheet metal, heat sinks, insulation systems, magnetic components, high voltage connectors, fasteners, and other components. • Mechanical design analysis including thermal, CFD, structural, design for assembly, and design for test. • Solve electronics packaging issues including electrical isolation, sealing, thermal management, interconnection, shock and vibration management, electromagnetic interference (EMI), RF communications, etc. • Create drawing packages and manufacturing instructions for parts and assemblies. • Assist in engineering prototype builds and component fabrication. • Collaborate with other mechanical, systems, electrical, firmware, manufacturing, industrial design, and test engineers to take designs from prototype through mass production.
