The role LazPay is the payments and financial services arm of Lazada and is part of the Financial and Payment Business organization of Alibaba International Digital Commerce (AIDC). LazInsure is a growing business unit that focuses on providing embedded insurance solutions within AIDC's e-commerce platforms. We are looking for a customer centric and motivated individual to help with operations and insights to drive the best user experience for Lazada buyers who avail of our insurance products Key Tasks & Responsibilities - Leads the identification and development of business opportunities by doing market opportunity sizing and development of business cases; - Own end to end process of operating and launching insurance products for Lazada in the Philippines - Deliver sales of products, programs, and services through e-commerce platform embedded sales and other channels as measured by net revenue - Setup Customer Segmentation, Strategy, and Retention including insights and business intelligence with support of internal Business intelligence team; - Lead in driving the expansion of products and services through partnerships and vendor selection - Regularly monitor market and benchmark against competition, track regulatory landscape changes, as well as overall InsurTech developments locally and globally - Oversees communication with internal units regarding updates or changes to the products and manages key stakeholders within Alibaba International Digital Commerce - Manage relationships with insurance partners, assisting with the preparation of contractual agreements and ensure that these are fully adhered to as needed - Drive win-win negotiations between Lazada and insurance partners· Contribute to category performance management and deliver insights to senior management - Prepare for and assist with the implementation of regular campaigns and initiatives - Identify and champion product improvements - Any other duties that may be assigned
We are actively seeking a seasoned Payment Sanctions Compliance and Governance Specialist to join our AIDC Group Compliance team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in devising, overseeing, and ensuring the seamless implementation of our Group-wide Sanctions program across our licensed entities, with a particular emphasis on the SEA and LATAM regions. Additionally, this role will encompass the formulation and execution of governance framework, including management oversight and management information reporting. Primary Responsibilities: • Formulate and implement Group-wide Payment Sanctions policies and controls in accordance with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and business needs, ensuring effective deployment across all operational locations; • Develop and implement the Group framework for Name Screening tuning, calibration and optimization; • Conduct regular reviews and validations to ensure the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of name screening systems; • Offer advisory support and coordination on Group Sanctions-related policies, including consultation and feedback; • Deliver training on Sanctions policies, procedures, and guidelines to enhance awareness; • Provide expert advisory to local MLROs, business units, and functions regarding sanctions-related matters, including policy interpretation and application; • Conduct thorough analyses of sanctions-related issues, manage escalated sanctions alerts and transactions, and ensure timely review of all sanctions-related escalations; • Establish and uphold the governance framework across the AML compliance team, including key AML and Sanctions governance forums/committees and Management Information reporting; • Proactively monitor developments in the market, industry or regulatory landscapes and engage relevant stakeholders concerning on the impact to the Sanctions program; • Facilitate with internal and external auditors and regulators relating to Sanctions audits/examinations or ad hoc projects for management reporting.
The AIDC Financial Compliance team is responsible for licensed financial services market entry, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, maintaining a country compliance program aligned with group compliance frameworks, and advising internal stakeholders on compliance matters. The team covers Lazada in Southeast Asia, AliExpress globally, and Daraz in South Asia. Responsibilities: Based in Thailand, the Thailand Financial Compliance Officer will have responsibility in ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, maintaining a country compliance program aligned with group compliance frameworks, and advising internal stakeholders on compliance matters, including: - Leading regulatory engagements and ensuring compliance with mandatory reporting requirements with relevant regulators and relevant internal and external stakeholders; - Advising on payments / lending / financial services regulatory matters, and assisting in the development and implementation of new products, features, and businesses lines; - Providing timely and quality regulatory advice for negotiations on strategic, complex and high value agreements; - Developing and implementing Group Compliance initiatives in-country, including – technology risk management, business continuity management, outsourcing, and consumer protection policies in line with local regulatory expectations and requirements; - Incident management (e.g. responding to regulatory investigations / inspections by authorities / assisting in PR incident responses/ submission of STRs); - Preparing for, and managing, audits and inspections by relevant regulators; - Localising and implementing Group-wide financial compliance programs and training for internal stakeholders; - Being the in-country champion in driving a culture of compliance; - Other additional duties as assigned.
